My Saturday

Here goes my Saturday life:

  1. Waking up very weak and sleepy from our TV series marathon.
  2. Attend our company general assembly wearing a color coordinated get up in yellow.
  3. Received from our HR Manager one great news, bonus and perks! Yey!
  4. Find out that my father in law really needs a blood transfusion and a one time dialysis before that. And lots of new medicines to take.
  5. He will go to the hospital again sometime next week. This time to be admitted.
  6. I almost cried seeing my husband so sad.
  7. Promise hubby that I will donate blood this time but I need to go home after that or else I will faint again (it happened 9 years ago) if I ever smell any hospital related air.
  8. And we need all the prayers we can get to overcome all of this.
  9. Very happy and really uplifting news from my eldest sister. At least, it really made my night back to Aja, aja! mode again =)

Happy Weekend, friends! =)

Time of Reflection

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent and occurs forty-six days (forty days not counting Sundays) before Easter. It falls on a different date each year, because it is dependent on the date of Easter.

Ash Wednesday gets its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of the faithful as a sign of repentance. The ashes used are gathered after the Palm Crosses from the previous year's Palm Sunday are burned. In the liturgical practice of some churches, the ashes are mixed with the Oil of the Catechumens[ritual] (one of the sacred oils used to anoint those about to be baptized), though some churches use ordinary oil. This paste is used by the priest who presides at the service to make the sign of the cross, first upon his own forehead and then on each of those present who kneel before him at the altar rail. As he does so, he recites the words: "Remember (O man) that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

Today is Ash Wednesday, and I know Baclaran Church is jam packed with devotees all over the Philippines.  I will go there and hear the mass after work. And I hope hubby and my sister can come with me tonight.

There are some misunderstanding on what I wrote in my post below, Tatay is not yet in the hospital bed, I said that the blood test results if failed might end him up in the hospital again.  But that is if the doctor will tell him he needed admission for a blood transfusion. The results are quite alarming and all we can do is to brace ourselves on what will happen next.  We all needed prayers for miracles to happen.

This is it

My desktop PC broke down since last week, and my hubby suspect of a mother board failure.  That’s why I diverted in watching some endless US TV series we bought.  And since hubby usually take his work at home so he can go home early, I can hardly sneak on checking my emails and to blog at his laptop and because his we-roam is giving me an on and off connection.

My father in law’s kidney complications might send him again to hospital.  We feared that the results of his blood and urine test are not that favorable for him.  Hubby decided to transfer him to his doctor in Makati Medical Center since the facilities and the doctor’s expertise can give Tatay a better view on what’s really happening.  And that will be tomorrow because the results are due today. I know and we can see the signs.  All we can do now is pray and hope that the medicines can do miracles without admitting him to the hospital.  It’s different from the others.  I knew it well. Oh, I’m having a mixed emotion again (sad).

A B-Day Special

It was my mother in-law and Aubrey’s birthday yesterday.  Nanay will start her senior citizen years and Aubrey is 10 years old now. Hubby rushed to the wet market with Nanay to bought the menu for the night.  Some of Nanay’s relative came that day and my family also came to celebrate with us.  Oh, I forgot to buy Aubrey’s gift but I promised I’ll make up with her this weekend.  But I ordered a banana cake to my office mate and gave her and Nanay each box.  It’s their favorite.

I just wish them both happiness, good health and be very happy with their life.

A Heart Story

Our Heart's day night (February 14)

  1. Stroll around Mall of Asia.
  2. Ate dinner at Aristocrat Restaurant
  3. Bought VCD movies.
  4. Used my BDJ coupon for the first time at Coffee Bean ( buy 1 get free 1 on their Original Ice blended drinks)
  5. Listen to Bamboo, Rico Blanco and Pupil concert at the bay.
  6. Watched the movie, “Push” starring Chris Evans and Dakota Fanning.
  7. And exchange Valentines messages via text =) to each other.

I’m surprised with Aubrey, giving us her own hand made Valentine’s card with a touching messages inside and two plastic roses (for me and hubby) from her own allowance. I admit she and Vince are two sweet kids you’ll ever know.

I’ve done some ironing last night and what I got after was a painful back ache (I really hate that chores!) and though hubby already gave me a massage, I don’t want to finish some clothes I left behind. I think I need some magic here...

A Boyce Experience

What a blast!

That is how I describe the recent free concert we watched tonight. It the concert of Florida, US based band called Boyce Avenue at the Mall of Asia. We went there as early as 5:00pm but we spent time strolling around the bay before going to the concert venue, it is about 5:30pm when we decided to look for a best view near the stage. Hubby told me that I should buy their cd album so I can have the chance to meet and greet the band after their show. But I know it will be that late and I have to endure the long line so I said I can settle with just watching and recording the videos. Aubrey and Mico came with us and were glad that they love music as much as we do, so when we left them on the right side of the stage to buy some snacks; we knew that we were right we did that because when we came back, most of the people are already settling on that side.

I almost feel tired waiting for 7:00pm to come. Pyro show came first and when the time truly comes, Kyla grace the stage with 3 songs from her album, Heart to heart. But then I have to remind hubby to close his mouth while watching Kyla sing (ha-ha!) it his favorite singer and he looked like a guy seeing his crush after a long time (lol!) Finally, after almost forever in waiting, Alejandro, (the lead vocal) his 2 other brothers, Daniel and Fabian Manzano and the drummer Stephen Hatker went up the stage and gosh, I think my ear drum exploded from the scream and shout of mostly students at our back. But definitely, they are so gorgeous and strikingly appealing in person. And when they start to sing (all acoustics), I forgot that I am old to do that, but boy, I really scream and shout literally! Ha-ha! How can I help it, Daniel who’s near on our side, winked, wave, flying kiss, and smile on us every time we sing with them. They looked so yummy and nice and that’s deadly combination, right? lol!

They sing most of their songs in their album and some of their the YouTube hits like, Apologize, Umbrella, Bleeding love, Freshmen , With you, No one and Where is the love.

It really worth the waiting, we really enjoyed their concert and I’m so glad I came to watched them.
Since it’s past 9pm but the kids are hungry so we had a late night dinner in KKK.
And we bought a cake from Red Ribbon and a baked siti from Sbarro. It’s really a night to remember =)

Shaded

Lucky for us, tomorrow is Paranaque City Day! Meaning, it’s a special non-working holiday for all the paraquenos. My office mate is kind enough to fill my work for tomorrow since my job needs to handle customers all over the Philippine and so I suppose to go to work, with no overtime pay (you just need to off set for some other day). But I begged my office mate that he can take an offset day next Friday if he wants, hubby is also working in Paranaque and we have to take the opportunity for an extra day for ourselves.

Just in time that for Valentine’s Day, I have this new hobby I got from my female officemate who likes to paint her nails in a different colors per finger. And since I also had some nail paints I bought when I really want the shades, I learned to paint my fingers too. Parlor manicurist can murder my nails in an instant, so now, I’m the one cleaning and putting the paint all by myself. Since the color of Valentine is red, I colored my nails in a red/maroon shades top with a natural color with silver glitters. My fingers are contrast to my white keyboard as I’m typing this post.

Tomorrow, we will go to Mall of Asia again. But….with a purpose! We will try to watch the free concert of Boyce Avenue! Imagine that… it’s free! And it’s my new favorite band! They will perform tomorrow at 7pm in the open bay area at back of the mall. I wish… I hope… we can have a better view! Need to take a snap for souvenir photos of them. I also want to watch Marley and Me movie, it’s about a pet dog. And our yellow Labrador named Summer really looks like the Labrador dog in the movie.

Hay, need to finish room cleaning before we can have some fun.

Out Of Control

Victoria's bushfire is a catastrophe.  As I flipped to the pages of the news on what happen to this town in Australia, I can only pray for all the victims of such tragedy.  It really brought tears in my eyes.

Expert said that severe weather events like this are likely to occur more often due to climate change and as the global warming continues.  As of now, over 170 lives had been taken and more to come.  And what’s worse is that this disaster is said to be made by an arsonist operating around the area before the wild fire broke.

I can never imagine the pain and the hurt of what happened but I hope this will end soon.

Happy =)

My hubby is known for being kind and generous man. When I just simply complained that I needed new sandals for office use, he asked me to look for it when we went to Landmark last Saturday. And lucky me, I did found yet another sandals with a big discount. But when we stroll around last night in Mall of Asia, he saw another sandals and he asked me that the color is cute and he wants me to try it on. I obliged never I thought that it will fit right through my foot and looks good too! He keep on urging me to get the sandals and he said it is also discounted and I can never find another one if I let it go. To cut the story short, I’ve got my 2nd shoes for the week and I am so happy =)

I never had a petish for shoes or sandals but I never say no if it pours right in front of me (lol!). I guess hubby is feeling the love in the air. I never ask for more this Valentine’s day. But.... how can i say no to the gifts? lol!

The Young at Heart

I'm excited to see my friends again… not just friends – they are my high school buddies. Almost 4 years in secondary school, through thick and thin, we fight, made up, little jealousy, and most of all, we are just a chair away from each other in our class room, our surnames made us closer to one another.

When we enter college, well, that’s another story. But true friendship will never fade; it will always be there, binding our time, letting us to be what we wanted to be. And I can’t remember how we got to be together again. All I know is that we held our section reunion in the place of my friend, Emy. And shall we say the rest is history.

As Emy’s birthday is on Feb. 9, we decided we meet at our convenient time and date somewhere nears our place. We chat on YM to agree on the place and that will be at Shakey’s near SM Sucat. It would be also the time that Jheng, our other buddy who just came from US to visit her fiancĂ©. We all want her pasalubong! Lol!

And I came on time (as always) last Friday. One by one, they show up and I’m kinda feeling ecstatic seeing the three of them. Time flies and I can never imagine that we will have this precious moments once more. So we chat, we laugh at our family stories, Jheng show her US trip pictures, Penny told us that she is 3 months pregnant (and that made me happy for her and sad for me and Emy) Anyways, we ordered lots of food and since Emy bring the car with her, we decided to stroll around Santana Grove along Sucat and I was amazed on how they really pose in the pictures and made funny faces and it really brings back the good old days. I really missed them. And we promised to see each other again sometime.

I can't find our graduation pictures in High school, so you would know the difference. But we all know that i guess - it how big we've grown. lol!
