Palm Sunday

What is Palm Sunday?

On Palm Sunday, Christians celebrate the Triumphal Entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, the week before his death and resurrection. For many Christian churches, Palm Sunday, often referred to as "Passion Sunday," marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes on Easter Sunday.

The Bible reveals that when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds greeted him with waving palm branches, and by covering his path with palm branches. Immediately following this great time of celebration in the ministry of Jesus, he begins his journey to the cross.

The biblical account of Palm Sunday can be found in Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-44; and John 12:12-19.

We decided to hear the mass today at the Greenbelt chapel in Makati. It’s been our favorite place to go every Sunday and I was kind of guilty of not going there often. And I miss the place, I miss praying while looking up there in the open sky, to the heaven. I suddenly miss the cool breeze of air and the fish around the pond. I miss the priest whom we love hearing his voice, very calm and relaxing. And I thank God I found myself in the same place again.

After the mass, we went to stroll around greenbelt 5 and 4 to do some window shopping. We went to Landmark and bought some of my personal items. Landmark is known for its complete line of beauty products and items that lacks on other shopping stores. And that time is my time because the shoes section is on sale! And I love my new black shoes that have 2 inches heels and that makes me 5’7” in height when I wear it. I also shop for a new nail polish and I really like the colors. Landmark food court is newly renovated and improved. I missed a lot of new in Makati since Mall of Asia in Pasay was opened.

This is the week we need to reflect and thank God for all the sacrifices He made for us to be all here on earth. Have a blessed week to all of us.

Good Week

I must say that it’s been a fulfilling week for me. I know there’s no great news or happenings but I am happy and contented that this week passed that I didn’t feel any stress at all. This is indeed new to me. Ha-ha.

We finally had our annual physical/medical exams last Wednesday. I’m not sure about my urine test but I have to be positive about it, that’s why I drink a lot of buco or coconut juice nowadays to help me clean my body toxins =)

I want to congratulate myself for doing a great job on my diet plans. I lessen the intake of carbo foods, I try not to eat after 6pm but I didn’t forget to eat afternoon snacks to help relieved my stomach from being hungry (though hubby is really tempting me to eat with him) and I exercise before I went to sleep using my abs blaster (good luck with that!). I like how it feels really good knowing that you’re slowly losing weight. I need to put in mind that self discipline is also a virtue. I really wanted to trim down and I pray that I can continue doing what I started.

I'm looking forward for a blessed weekend in our family. Thank God it's Friday! =)

Mangoes and Tacos

My father was known as one of the best gardener in his time.  It takes 20 years or more to perfected his craft and I never know that he can still managed to do some magic on his plants and trees.

At 72, my father loves to do the garden, tends to it, feed his chickens, check on his plants and one of the amazing thing happened, our not so tall mango tree bear fruits that are big and looks very yummy.  And my sisters keep ganging on it that they reserved their share on the fruits even if it’s still way up there in the tree (ha-ha!) Well, everybody is enjoying looking at it because aside from the usual Papaya trees, that mango tree is the next big thing happened in our garden =)

Before we leave, my aunt would like to taste our home made taco’s so I prepared all the ingredients and we let them taste it and they love it! They said they will make some on their home and will call me for some questions in case the taste went off (ha-ha!).  But I also got my cooking talent in my father’s only sister, I know she can pull it through :)

Swim and Splash

When hubby returned from his Cebu trip, my sister picked us up in our house and we went straight to our parents house in Laguna.  It’s been a while since we last visited them and my father and Vince kept asking me when to visit them again.

And seeing them and my family complete in one house really made me happy.  We talked till the wee hours of the morning and we suggested some place where we can spend the Holy Week next week.  But my sister is hesitating since my brother will arrive not until the first week or second week of April and she wants to wait for my brother till we can proceed with our family vacation.  With that change of plans, I guess I need to check on some other ways so hubby and I can still enjoy our work vacation together.

The following day, the kids are urging us to swim in the clubhouse, and since it was so hot and we badly needed a splash in the water we went to the swimming pool and we bought drinks and snacks for the kids.  We enjoyed our 2 hours of stay in the water.  And I was so amazed that Vince knows how to swim even on a 5-feet deep water and no one is teaching him how.  He is really like his father who’s a good swimmer too.

We will definitely going back again in Laguna next week. I suddenly missed the calm and peace surroundings in that place.

Cebu

Hubby is a certified jet setter for this month. He’s been to Dumaguete and now in Cebu in a span of 2 weeks. We picked him up in the terminal 3 airport and bring with him what I emailed him for the “pasalubong”. He said that this Cebu trip is more work relaxing rather than what they had in Dumaguete. They were pressured and rushed from the problems they encountered in their office and they have an ample time to stroll around and enjoy the city. Their hotel in Cebu was way much better and the foods are great, too.

The initial plans was I will follow him in Cebu so we can spend the weekend together but I backed out the last minute because 2 days is not enough for us to enjoy the place. And besides, I’ve been there before and my plan was to go the the nearby province of Cebu and that is, Bohol. And that is included in the next agenda. I hope we can push though the plans this summer.

And a trip to Cebu will never be completed without a stop by to the dried fish market in Taboan, Cebu. Hubby was able to meet a friend of mine (a fellow Cathy supporter) in Ayala, Cebu and she gave me a native necklace which is so in with my beach summer dress I recently bought. In return, I gave her some souvenirs items from our Cathyriffics get-together. I am so happy I had a change to give it to them though they are far away from here in Manila. By next week or so, I will meet the sister of another supporter in Canada so she can bring with her our souvenirs when she leaves for Canada this year.

Business Trips

Hubby’s 2010 work schedules are quite hectic. Aside from the merging of their two companies, of course they had other new big bosses to consider. He needs to manage some new projects and proposals for his department. And the transitions are making them restless, sleepless and dead tired. Last week, they went to their Dumaguete office and he sometimes calls me that they still need to do a telephone conference with their US counterparts even after midnight (the time difference really hurts them a lot).

They are given just few hours to shop for some foods and delicacies to bring home. And I’m glad that he was able to buy my favorite sylvannas and meaty chicharon. My family really loves it.

Dumaguete's yummy pork chicharon, high blood hello! ha-ha!

Tomorrow, he and his colleagues will be leaving to Cebu City up to Friday for another business trip with their new boss. But this time I already bought multi vitamins capsules, for some extra energy. He’s so stressed and pressured and it will mean a lot to his health.

And I will be alone in the room again with our dog beside me tomorrow night (ha-ha!)

Karaoke Spree

We spent yet another fun filled day with Cathy last Saturday. After our visits to their shooting location in Rizal last week, I thought I should spare the weekend resting at home and because hubby just arrived from his business trip in Dumaguete City. But he said I can go with my friends and he will just stay and rest. And the rest is history =)

It is my first time (most of us actually) in Centerstage family KTV (in Tomas Morato), it was way too far from my place but it is where we could all meet from those who resides from North or South. It was quite a bonding; Cathy is really jolly and fun to be with. She ate her favorite foods, sings her heart out and tells funny and unseen moments from her stay in PBB house. She gamely dances and sings her favorite songs and she is like a kid having fun in the rain. I really like her positive attitude.

Many are requesting to do it again, but it takes a lot of patience in doing this meet ups, we need to consider Cathy’s schedule and commitments. But she promised that we will meet again if she’s free.

Get Together

It was surely a night to remember.  Last Saturday was our first get-together with PBB housemate's Cathy Remperas.  After almost 3 weeks of preparations and budgeting, we finally pushed through with the plans and it was a huge success.  All the committees assigned to do some research on Cathy's relatives and friends made it through on the deadlines even if they only have ample time to collect all the videos and editing.  I was assigned in sending messages to the global supporters on Cathy abroad if they are willing to share or contribute for the event.  Some works on the tarps and wall decorations, others work on the souvenirs, t-shirts, cake and other things.  And I hosted the event.

When the time comes that you feel that this is it and there's no turning back, you can see on how we amazingly worked altogether to make this moment unforgettable for all of us and for those who attended the gathering.  Cathy shines like no other and her love and appreciation to each of her supporters really took away all the sleepless nights watching her in that reality TV show.  Even if we are tired on the 6-hour program it was all worth it.  Everybody went home happy and contented and with lots of pictures and memories to upload and reminisce on their computer.

In times of these, I greatly appreciate my hubby's understanding that his wife has to do other things like these aside from being at home or in the office or with my family.  I gained yet another friends and I'm very happy that I met and bond with them a lot.

Cathy Remperas, simply stunning

Cathyriffics!

A Blessed Day

It was a blessed Friday for us in our company. They decided to give their regular employees a big time bonus for a job well done last year. And I must say that I can only see happy faces everywhere I go in our premises. And all are eyeing for a nice treats to themselves and for their families.

I called my eldest sister to pick me up in the office. My Mom, Aubrey and my sister came and treated them at the dinner and their groceries for a week. I gave Mom and Papa something for them to spend. I asked hubby what he wants when we went to Mall of Asia after work, but I know he’s tired, he said he will think it over. But I bought for myself instead, a nice pair of rubber shoes/sneakers and a dress at Bench boutique (ha-ha). We waited for the 50% off in French Baker but I must say that their bread is getting expensive everyday, whew!

Tomorrow, I will tell my mother in-law that I will treat them to her favorite John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo movie. She can watch it with our house help because I will attend Cathy’s get together tomorrow afternoon.

This is indeed TGIF! Thank, God for the blessings =)
