Farewell

One of our favorite bosses in our company passed away last Sunday morning due to blood cancer. It was such a struggle on his part and he fought that deadly disease for more than a year now. We thought he surpassed the storm when we saw him in our office and smiling at us last year. He even attended our yearly Christmas gathering and he said to me that our team should perform in this year Christmas presentation. He really looked alright though he dropped 80% of his body weight.

Sir Tonet is the epitome of a good and helpful executive whom you can always rely on. I wish we can all have this kind of person in every company. But he is with our God now. And it’s time to let go.

He will lay to rest on Friday at Manila Memorial in Paranaque. Though we can’t be there because of work, I know he understands. Rest in peace, Sir Tonet, you will always be remembered.

Pool Party!

After the get together event of Paul Jake and Cathy, I went straight to Pansol, Laguna for the yearly department outing of hubby. I was used to joined them every year and I also helped them cooked the food. I thought I can never make it this year because I had an event to attend that day but since the start of the pool party is in the evening, I brave myself to ride a bus (after a long long time) and went to a place with hubby as my guide.

But bad things happened, my cell phone battery is not doing well these days and I had no chance to charge it when I came home to get my things and my worst fear came true. It went off before I can text hubby that I already entered Calamba area. So I had to do something and that is to get off from the bus and look for some kind-hearted people in the store and beg them to at least let me charge my cell phone even for just 5 minutes, I know that hubby is worried that I’m not replying to his messages and my phone is unattended. I was so lucky that the old lady trusted me and charges my phone for 10 minutes! I was able to call my hubby and ride a jeep going to the place he mentioned.

Just like before, I had a great time with his office mates, I bonded with them well and joined in their tequila time in the pool and sing my heart out in the videoke. I went to sleep at 5am while hubby was still having a heart to heart talk with the other groups. Though there are many people who just can’t be happy even when most of their peers are, the outing was successful as ever. Till next year
:)

Memorable Get Together

I really had a blasted weekend. Yesterday, I went to Paul Jake and Cathy get together held in a bar and grill restaurant somewhere in Quezon City. Though it was searing hot that morning, I kept my promise to the other members that I will help them to organize and decorate the venue so I came to the place 3 hours before the start of the program. It was fun laughing and talking to these newly found internet friends of mine. I really had grand moments with them.

Paul Jake and Cathy

Cathy was stunning and cheerful as ever, when she and Paul Jake enter the room, people were awed and surprised to see them together in one event. They had this chemistry together and everybody was happy seeing them participating in every games. Paul Jake was so accommodating and sweet and being handsome is another thing. They are both gorgeous and Aubrey and my cousin who came with me had a great time in the photo booth.

I hope we can still push through with the charity events so I can be with these two lovely ex-Pinoy Big brother housemates again =)

Healthy Pineapple

I knew I have this passion to at least lose weight or even just to trim down my stomach fats before our company beach outing this May. I don’t want to see myself looking big in the pictures and even on some stolen shots of my office mates.

I’m trying everyday to lessen my carbo intakes and I make sure I drink a can of pure pineapple juice every night before I go to sleep. With its numerous benefits in our health, the most important thing it does to my body is it really helps me to regulate my bowel movement, feels good every day. There are so many good reasons to add pineapple to our diet. I tried to at least drink a glass of it every night. I just need to start avoiding eating rice too =)

Hot! Hot!

Summer means fun. Vacations, out of town trips and picnics are the best in this season and a cold halo-halo and ice cream. Whew! Soft drinks and iced tea are definitely in too! My young cousin decided to spend her school vacation here and it’s been 9 years since she last visited Manila from our province in Ilocos where her family lives. I really hope she can explore the whole town before her vacation ends.

Her first pit stop is of course, Mall of Asia. After we watched the 7PM fireworks, we stroll around again and find our feet aching before we thought that it's time to go home. Good thing we are just 10 minutes away from the mall and had a good therapeutic massage from our favorite local healer “hilot”. My bones and muscles were now relax =) I love to do it once a month and it really feels good!

I’m excited with the planned family outing next month. I hope to enjoy this summer more :)

Still Down

Unfortunately, we still don’t have internet connection in the office. And it’s getting into my nerves! Good thing I was able to bring my broad band and it miraculously work to help open our internet based system. Though I have to do it manually because the network printer won’t work, at least I was able to lessen the burden of not doing anything at all while the customers are having the time of their lives complaining because of the delayed deliveries.

Gosh, this is one thing I hated most. And as much as I wanted to just take a leave from work, I will still feel restless because I’ll be thinking of the problems we will face once our connection is up.

I always remind myself that patience is a virtue. I guess I need to recite that more often.

Feel Young

I really wanted to wear those colorful head bands used and popularized by Leighton Meester’s character, Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl. But I always think twice knowing I’m not in the age to wear this fancy head bands. When I really like it, I’d bought it and let Aubrey wear it because she has this fine long hair and is really beautiful in her hair.

So when I saw this head bands in the internet, I have this urge to buy one or two of these fashionable head bands. But good thing that before I even lift a finger to click on the order form, my friend told me that she knows a shop that’s selling this kind of head bands. And I choose this same style but different colors and I really love it! I’m feeling young again. Ha-ha!

Travel Plans

I am thinking many times if I will push through with the plan of overnight swimming and a 24-hour hotel stay in Los Banos, Laguna for the two of us (hubby and I). My sister is in her don’t-mess-with-me-or-else mood and she won’t lend us her car. But it is okay if we can just take a bus ride and I think that will be more enjoyable than riding with car. The price of unleaded gas is soaring high (P45/liter) and its not advisable going to far places or else, you’re going to spend thousand of pesos for the gas only.

Camiguin Island

I’m telling hubby if we could book a cheap flight going to Camiguin Island via Cagayan de Oro City this June. I’m checking the Internet for the cheap fares and hotels to stay in both places but I guess all I can do is to check and browse the Internet and not putting my plans into action. Why because hubby’s department is still in transition and they had lots of projects to implement and he’s the main man. Imagine when you’re in the middle of your goodnight sleep then his phone will suddenly ring because their client in a far away United Kingdom is having a problem at work and not minding if his counter part is sleeping. I can only cover my ears with a pillow but still hearing them talking. My eye bags are getting bigger everyday. I need to put a fresh cucumber in my eyes or it will like I was punched in both eyes. So the plans will always be plans and I don’t know when it will be a reality.

But I'm keeping a high hopes. Maybe one day =)

No Access

Our lines are down in the office for two days. And the most irritating part is we are included in the 2-hour rotating brownout yesterday and can you imagine being in a place that was so hot, no electricity, no internet, no music and we can only talked to each other and waste your time doing nothing and then going home feeling weak. If I have known that it will be the same today, I should have stay at home and do something more meaningful. Sleep? Rest? Ha-ha!

see? I'm kind of bored.. ha-ha!

While looking for some things to do to occupied our time, first picture with our new office mate (seated in the right), Gelai.

My online friends are asking me if I could come with them to Cathy’s shooting location in Pililia, Rizal today. The place is quite far and they will stay overnight and I’m afraid I can’t do that. If I were single and unavailable like them, perhaps I’m with them right now and going to the location shooting of our favorite artists. But I have to refrain doing that since I got married. Hubby is understanding and its okay with it, but I have stop myself. Self discipline is also a virtue =) I’ll just see them through the pictures they will post in our thread site.

Tonight, I can sleep late and wake up late tomorrow because it’s a public holiday! What a great feeling!:)

Vacation Mode

After my 6 days vacation, I felt that I still needed time to rest. I came to our office in a very sluggish mood. I felt I wanted to laid down and sleep more. But reality bites, I’m back to work again and I have nothing to do with it because it means that I have to use my vacation leave and I don’t want that. I have plans of an out of town vacation with hubby this June.

Or my lazy side is overpowering me and I’m thinking of resigning again on my job though I still needed it . We all know that it felt good to earn and save money from your own and you can sometimes help your family and buy things without asking from your hubby.

Its vacation time for the students and I wish we can also have a vacation of two months from work just like them. Haha! Aubrey and Mico are having the time of their life going from places to places enjoying their school off. But Aubrey still has summer practice as their school tennis player and I’m glad that she’s into sports right now. She even got an award on their recognition day and Vince was top 6 on their class. Vince is enrolled in basketball and summer swimming and I know he will enjoy every minute of it.

I’m glad that I have to say what’s on my mind on this post. I’m feeling better now =) This Friday is another public holiday and we have to enjoy yet another 3-day rest from work. I have to keep my spirit alive!! =)

Honey's Big Day

It’s my dearest husband’s birthday today. I wonder if there is anything I could buy him as my gift but I can’t really think of anything. When I woke up and I know that he’s already awake, I sing a happy birthday song on my hoarse voice while still lying on the bed and he said thank you! And I gave him my gift. After the party yesterday in Jollibee, we went straight to Mall of Asia and I bought the one thing I heard from him. It’s when he said that he doesn’t have any perfume anymore. And I know that Benetton hot is one of his favorite perfumes and that’s spare me from head ache on what to buy as a present.

I cooked spaghetti carbonara and I baked chocolate cupcakes for him that afternoon, my Aunt and Uncle come over and gave him a LEE shirt. I thought we will have no time to watch Clash of the Titans anymore but he said, we still have time and besides its Monday, no more people rush on the mall. And we watched the movie on a 7:15pm schedule with my sister, Reine and Mico.

We bought a mocca roll cake in Red Ribbon bake shop. And before the end of the day, we both shared a slice of cake before we went to sleep. I just wish him good health and I thank God for having him in my life.

Last Sunday night, went to Cowboy Grill and celebrate with his friend and my sister. We had an amazing night and we really enjoyed the live band. The best time to unwind. =)

Easter Sunday Celebration

Parties and birthdays are some Easter Sunday celebrations I attended. It was a fun filled day for me and for the kids who attended my officemate’s son who turns one year old. Mico and Franzine came with me and my eldest sister because hubby wasn’t able to go with us. Two of my girl office mates were also there and it was more on adult dominated party because the kids are either too young or shy (like Franzine) to joined the games. It turned out to be an adult party when everybody was able to participate and had fun.

Franzine made some major changes. She’s not that shy anymore and when she turned four years old already, we noticed that she can now interact with other kids and were able to go near the mascot and sing a birthday song even when she’s away from us. She’s really growing up. We hope she can carry on like that till she can join the party games in the future like her elder cousins.

We all know that fuel prices are rising up unstoppable. But here’s one thing that will help us overcome the major crisis in energy and fuels. N-Viro International Corporation (Symbol: NVIC)The biofuel provides a cost effective solution that has a positive environmental impact and renewable energy.

With this opportunity fuel, it will help every country who is looking for alternatives to gasoline and diesel fuels. We can expect clean coal results that were tested at Michigan State University coal-fired power plant. In this review, It will surely help us realize the major breakthrough solutions to the widespread problem in gas and fuels.

Good Friday

We went to San Pedro Parish church to hear the 3pm mass, it turns out to be a 2-hour mass (Seven last Words) plus procession of the statues after the mass. It was a time to repent and reflect and thank God for His sacrifice to save us. We thank God for all the blessings and good health, and a wish to have a little joy in our life that will make us complete.

We went back home here in Paranaque while my mother-in law is still in Pampanga with her sister to attend to a family gathering. This year, we didn’t spent the Holy Week out of town. But it feels good just to lay your back in the chair and watch some old movies together. Really feels good at home.

Have a blessed weekend to all of us =)

Farm Life

The cool breeze in the garden was so perfect that we decided to eat lunch under the mango tree. I missed the time when we still living at Nayong Pilipino vicinity and my father created a round table near the fish pond and then we ate altogether during summer time. I still feel nostalgic when I think of our life before, my Papa had a big garden and if you sing the children song of “Bahay Kubo”, we had it all there in my father’s garden. That’s how good his green thumb is. As if we are living in a province within the city.

He still tending his garden now, though smaller compares to what we had before, but he managed to plant some fruit bearing trees, vegetables and raise some chickens and eggs too! And some exotic reptiles like turtles. I love talking to Papa about his interests and asking him about what we used to do before. It brings back the good old memories again.
