Happy 6th Month!

It’s baby Nathan’s 6th month and we’re so excited that he reached his 6th month as a healthy, cheerful and happy baby. I met with my sister in SM Sucat to buy his cake and I almost run out of cake flavours to choose from so I settle for an ordinary cake where you can put enough messages for Nathan. I can only smile when the crew showed me the cake with the icing dedications showing Happy 6th birthday instead of 6th month but he hurriedly fixed it and put Happy 6th month birthday instead. Ha-ha!

Hubby came home late but he said he will make it up one day. He’s just too busy at his work and with lots of adjustments on their projects. I can’t believe Nathan can be this big and jolly after 6 months. He can now sit and stand for a few seconds and he now knows how to hold if he thinks he’ll fall. With all the picture taking and a special dinner, I am so happy knowing that we come this far raising our baby Nathan.

Happy 6th Month, baby Nathan! We love you so much!! :)

Avoiding Penalties

This month is tax paying time again and my company is in a hurry to finish all the transactions and close the company book.  Maybe that’s the main reason why we have an internal email from the management asking for an overtime work just to finish the job.  I know it’s a lot of work for some who will fail to file their taxes on time. What will happen if you can’t have any extensions to do that?  I have the same problem with that before and good thing I had my 2009 tax extension form.  I was so worried that time about getting penalties but that’s the only thing I did and my problem was solved.

At first I thought I will have a hard time doing that but a friend showed me the step by step guide in filing our tax extension.  From the forms you will need, to how to file and what to expect, I’m so happy that it was the easiest thing to do with the very detailed and precise guide, it saves my time and will surely spare me from the costly penalty.  I’m spreading the good news to my colleague so they don’t need to worry on their tax extensions.

Baby Moves

Nathan’s first time in Mall of Asia happened last Saturday.  At first we initially planned to visit our old house in Pasay because our neighbor kept on asking for him.  But since it was searing hot and we can’t do anything except watched on TV we decided it’s time for him to hit the mall.  And he did it! He kept on looking everywhere and he was an observer! If he wants to sleep he will just whined for his milk and that’s it, he’ll sleep in our arms. And then wakes up with a smile on his cute little face. What a baby!

I’m so proud with our baby, and we are all happy for him. We will try to do it again sometimes but we shouldn’t forget his stroller, sometimes he wanted to lay down and just play.

He will have his first birthday party to attend next month and I can’t wait for that to happen!

With Flying Colors

My niece just got promoted in her company and one of the perks is having a company owned car she can drive while traveling around the city for some series of meetings with the clients.  But her problem is how to get a driver’s license without taking much of her time.  And she’s afraid that she might fail the written exams and start all over again.  She didn’t have much time waiting on long lines and reviewing for the test.  I told her to look for something that might help and she came across DMV study guide and was ecstatic about it.  She told me that it gave her high hopes and assurance that she can make it through the exams.  She’s now persistence in having her own driver’s license in less time and effort.

She even checked some sites so she can have more knowledge in getting her license and was delighted to know that she can have some driving information while online. She said that she never knew that it can be that easy.  I’m happy to see her enjoying life while being this successful in her field.  I know and I believe that one day I will be able to see her driving her own car and telling me that she passed the exams with flying colors.

Baby's day out

It was baby Nathan’s vaccine day for his pneumo vaccine and I take a leave at work to have a follow up check in my OB- Gyne.  I bathe him early and he was happy as we walk outside our house to get a cab.  Aubrey and Mico come with us and they patiently wait for our turn as they play with baby Nathan.  His pediatrician said Nathan is advance on his age because of so many he can do that at his age right now. She asked us some questions regarding Nathan’s eating habits, if he cries too often and others and was surprised to see that Nathan are happily moving his feet forward when prompt to walk.

When it’s time for his shot, I held him on my lap and his doctor took a shot on his left thigh.  He cried but when the doctor lifted him he suddenly stopped crying so the doctor said “you’re a big boy now!” I proudly look at my baby whose now playing with a plastic ball his pedia gave him.  The shots will continue evey month but I know even with the slight fever after, my brave baby will pull it through.

Happy Reunion

I just didn’t let them know how excited I was for our high school reunion.  I was about to see my long time friends and buddies after 10 years or more since I haven’t got much time to meet them when someone came back from abroad.  I’m curious to know how they look like or what happened to their lives after high school and college.

And it didn’t disappoint me, seeing them and talking to them from the moment I step on the venue in our old high school.  It brings back all our high school memories.  I had my best days in that school with them.  I laugh, cried and fight with them.  And looking at them makes no difference at all they’re still my old high school friends whom I really adore.  I am so proud of what they achieved in life, one is now a OB-Gyne, a successful nurse in the US, a mechanical engineer who owns a trading company and many others.  But above all this, they are still down to earth and willing to help each other and anyway they can.

I had a time of my life taking pictures of them and even after our videoke stint near the area, we had some coffee in a 24/7 fast food and we talked till we saw the sun rise outside.  That’s how we really missed each other.

We once called our all girls group as "Terrific Girls" only 3 didn't make it that night because they from abroad.

We headed to the nearest videoke club after the party.

and we kept on talking and talking till morning :)

I am looking forward to see them all again next Sunday before our friend left to US.

Happy Birthday, hubby!

I surprised hubby with a birthday cake that I hide very well in a cabinet after he sent me a text that he’s coming home.  I intend to show it to him when the clock strikes 12mn.  The oldies can’t wait for it anymore so I asked Mico (his nephew) to entertain his Tito Jhon in the room while I asked hubby if he wants coffee which he said yes. So I prepared the cake and wait for the time before I called them out down stairs.

Hubby was surprised he never saw the cake box and I told him I’m good in hiding.  We sing a happy birthday song and he blew the candle.  And we ate the cake away, what a midnight snack!

Happy, happy birthday hubby! You know how much we love you and we will be forever grateful on your kindness. I wish you all the love and happiness in this world.  I love you, haney!

Congratulations!

My niece finally graduated from elementary and I’m so proud that Aubrey Reine finished schooling without any problems at all.  I wake up early to be her official photographer for the day and I’m a bit late going to their school but I know, with a public event like this, the program started late as usual because of they keep on waiting for the politician guest but that gave me time taking pictures of her with her classmates and close friends.

My brother told me to buy cake for her while Mom cooked pansit and fried chicken.  But Aubrey asked permission from me if I can allow her to join her classmates going to Mall of Asia after their graduation and I allowed her because she deserves it.  It makes her happy and it’s her special day. She promised to be in the house before night falls.

Congratulations Aubrey! And good luck to your next endeavor, high school!
