Free Drive

I’m really enjoying my driving lessons with hubby.  I sweet talk him that he needs to be very patient with me or I will enrol in driving school because he tends to be very nervous with the way I handle the wheel.  I know we have different approach while driving, he’s so cautious and alert and concentrated and I am more relax, carefree and fast.  He said I need to be very careful because it is not that easy and I replied that I will think about it because for now, having my own time behind the wheel is just perfect.

With my current ways in driving, he said he might consider the free insurance quotes he received from his friend last week.  We will talk about it because we should be weighing in the pros and cons and our family budget, too.  We are also helping my niece to her college expenses and hubby said I shouldn’t worry much because his friend will give free finance tips to help us in our finances and I hope we can really push through with my niece college insurance.  I really wanted to help her finish her college because that is our ultimate dream for her.  We will have to keep our fingers crossed.

Newest Hype

I noticed that the twitter world used to mention about Fifty Shades, and I knew then that it’s the newest controversial books that started as a fanfic story derived from Twilight books.  So I asked my office mate to get me an e-book copy and now my friends are all into the love stories of Christian Grey and Ana Steele.  It becomes viral and now Hollywood are planning to have a movie with this best seller books because people can’t stop talking about it.

Controversial because it is for adults only books but despite of the vulgar words, you will know that it has this story depicting the inner struggles and dark past of a wealthy man who fall in love with a ordinary college graduate woman.  The love story amazed me and I’m glad that it has happy ending.

My hubby can only shake his head because here I go again, digging my thoughts and eyes on a book but I realized, it’s so been so long that I haven’t got into reading again.  I’m so glad that I’m back on the track again.  My friends until now are asking for my copies and I’m happy to share it with them and talked about the story on chat and on the phone.  One thing for sure, I will wait for the movie adaptation of the books and I will be the first to fall in line.

Next Big Step

My cousin phoned me last night about how ecstatic she was on her plans to take a graduate course this school year.  She said she always dreamed of it almost every day because it will be her stepping stone for much bigger changes on her career.  I said I already know that through her mother, my Aunt when she had her vacation her in our place last month and we are all happy with all her achievements despite being on a working student status for quite sometimes.

But she said she needed some time to prepare for the big thing and she said her friends recommends gmat prep and because she wanted to make sure she is on the right track.  I told her to take her time and focus because I wanted her to be ready when it started.

She assures me that she’s also thinking on trying the Veritas Prep because of the good reviews and I told her to try everything that will help her reach her dreams.  I know she will make it big because she’s one of the best cousins I ever had.  Understanding, helpful, patient and loves her family so much.  I always pray for her success and I hope it will all come true.

Magical Weekend

Despite hubby’s pain in his right knee and baby Nathan’s colds, we decided to join our company’s first family day in Enchanted Kingdom last weekend.  Good thing, my niece Reine, joined us to help me with Nathan since hubby can’t carry him that long because of his injury.

All is well in the bus and Nathan happily greeted my officemates and their family and make friends with their kids as well.  Until we reached the place and the moment we stepped down the bus, it was so hot! I said to myself, oh uh, this is not going to be fun because most of rides are situated out door.  I tried hard to make Nathan feel comfortable because I wake him up early and I worried that he’ll throw his tantrums anytime soon.

We tried to ride most of the available rides and some of it was just for kids and I thought the time was so limited because we spent our time cooling ourselves in the air conditioned restaurant we saw along the way.  But it was nice to see my officemates with their family and meeting them along the way.  The games were expensive and we end up having just 2 small stuffed toys as prizes.  Hubby promised Reine to go there in weekdays so we can enjoy all we want.  Nate surprisingly enjoyed his first trip to Enchanted Kingdom and he slept in the bus on the way home.

Distant friend

My best friend decided to migrate and work in the US and left last year.  I really felt so sad because I will be missing her so badly.  She’s been my friend and like my sister since high school and even when we have our own family now we often meet during our free time and talk about our family life and acquaintances and our plans for the future.  I know living abroad is not that easy but just like me, my best friend is a strong willed woman and I believe in her.

But even we’re miles away from each other, distance is never an issue.  But last night is quite different, we talked quite seriously and she said she needs to concentrate on something, her taxes.  I think that it the first time she ever discussed it to me.  She’s afraid to pay the penalties and she shouldn’t take it lightly because some of her office mates made some mistakes and nearly suffer the consequences.  Good thing their boss taught them about irs extension form 2011 and they still have plenty of time to file their dues.

I can see that she's adjustting well in her new life now and she's getting used to it. When I joke her about it she answered, "I know, one step at a time".

Half the Price

I wonder why that when we’re about to redeem my voucher at Yoshinoya’s in Mall of Asia they have a written notice beside their counter that they decided not to accommodate the vouchers from cleverbuy.com because of some internal issues. I said to hubby, uh! Uh! This is not good! So we ate at Tokyo Tokyo instead and forget the delicious jumbo platter I purchased in Yoshinoya. Today, I dialed their office number and guess what, the phone is busy. I dialed again… still busy. And I thought, well I think there is something fishy going out with this company.

And then I saw the news in TV that customers who purchased big amount of vouchers in cleverbuy like trips in Boracay, Palawan and also overseas like Hongkong and Cambodia stormed in their office and demanding a refund were all greeted with a closed door. And I said, I was robbed with a P250 ($6) off my PayPal account and it saddens me that it happens to thousands of us who trusted their company. I purchased vouchers from them before and I used that within the validity period so I guess they are some mismanagement on their part. But anyways, lessons learned and I hope they can still make up with their lapses and I can still use the voucher (well, I’m wishing for a miracle) someday.

Dream House

When my sister transferred to her new house last month, she told me she wanted to change the flooring of the house. I told her then she shouldn’t transfer completely if she really wanted to do it because they need to clear up the entire floor so they can work with any hassle. But what she like is a just a cheap flooring that will suit her budget but will not suffer the quality she wanted. I said, I think we need to postpone the whole transfer thing and start checking for some flooring materials with reasonable prices.

And then my hubby recommends that we should check the Build Direct because it offers wide arrays of products with conveniently lower prices that will help my sister to have the flooring she wanted for her new house. I know it will take a lot of time and resources to make her dream house complete so with the way she’s starting with her flooring I know she can achieve her goal in less time. I never saw her so excited like this. She waited to have this moment for a long time and I’m glad that we are sharing the same joy with the whole family.
