My New Guy(s)

I've been searching for a new music to play in my office pc when my office mate introduce me to this new guys called Boyce Avenue - a Florida based band well known to their strong acoustics, sweet voices and yummy faces =)

If you have time, you can listen to their songs and I really recommend their great rendition of No Air, Take You There, Hate That I Love you and With You. I love acoustic songs and this is what I want to hear when I'm relaxing or when I'm about to sleep.  I might look for their poster for our bedroom wall. =) And now, their songs is the song of the month here in the office (meaning, it will be played over and over again till they all know the lyrics) lol!

Missing You

I haven't been in Laguna for more than a month now. And one thing I'm missing.... it's Vince. I've got to talk to him last week on the phone and he said he's okay and doing fine in his studies. And I'm trying to call him as much as i could, but then again either he's not yet on the house (from school) or he's already sleeping (afternoon nap). When I try to remember the time that I should call, the work loads made me mindless of the time. I simply miss his funny ways and ala- Sam Milby tagalog accent. When the entire repair is over, I will get to see his smiling face again. Like the one I shot below last Jan. 1

Restless

I told hubby that he never seems to get tired in going out during weekend. Last Saturday, we went again to Quiapo. This time my Mom went with us together with my eldest sister. She said before that she misses some places where she used to go when she and my Dad once lived in Intramuros, Manila during their early years of marriage. Actually, we really wanted to ask Mom out 'coz she's been very busy in her sari-sari store business and we know she needed a time off. When we saw that she's happy moving around the Quinta Market bargaining on some vegetables she likes, we smiled at each other. We did a great job, Mom was so happy going back to her good old days.

Well, I've been there a lot too before, when I was still studying in Lyceum of the Philippines in Intramuros also. Quiapo and Sta. Cruz are one of the places we can roam around near the school. So after Quaipo, we went to eat again (dinner this time) in Delicious restaurant (as per Mama's request) and take a cab going to Mall of Asia after that. We stopped by at Starbucks and talked just anything about the family.

And today, after bringing the house down with our one on one videoke challenge at home, he again decided to stroll at SM Sucat. Last night, were looking for some boutique that he thought was located somewhere in the north side of MOA and i dare him that i never saw a boutique like that but he insist-  and he lost.  A new bag is the prize for that deal. And i got one with the discount! =) And then he crave for an overload pizza in Greewich and I willingly ordered at the counter while looking at the smiling face of John Lloyd Cruz in the poster (he-he, actually, I'm smiling because i usually win in our dare, with a price!) We went to Church after eating and here is he now, face down in our bed and sleeping like a baby right at this early hour of the evening.

And so I thought this man can never ever get tired from malling. Well, lack of sleep paid the price, he's also into marathon watching of Lost =)

Feeling the Global Crisis

Thousands lose jobs.  The world's financial crisis continues to make it's way and our company is never an exemption.  Just yesterday, we heard from the buzz around here that 5% - 10% of every account will lose their jobs, especially the contractual employees and those employed through agencies.  And there will be no overtime policies starting Feb. 1 (well, I have no problem with that coz I don't want to render OT and I rather stay home and rest).  My friend's hubby is working in electronic company based in Laguna and she said they only have 4 working days since last year. Hubby's company also felt the global crisis and he told me that one whole project was abruptly terminates its contract losing almost 50 employess (including regular ones) and they only heard the news that it's their last day when the employees reported from work that day. Hubby said he can't go near to console them for they are all crying and saying goodbyes to everyone.

Some are offering early retirement and retrenchment or redundancy to their employees and some may take it as an advantage if they really don't want to stay in their posts.  But looking for another job is another question.

It's never been easy living nowadays.  I hope this year of the Ox will rise up as the month progresses.

New Weekend Fun

Sunday! Hubby wants us to watch Underworld 3 in MOA. But i need to do some errands today like ironing (gosh, i'm so dead worst in that part) and I want to go to Baclaran to buy new curtains for our room.

Yesterday, my sister decided to add some spice in our weekend routine. We played BINGO! We thought that no one will join except for the kids but eventually everybody joined including my parents in law (imagine that! lol!) we played for almost 3 hours and i can see that the oldies were really having a great time playing. But guess what - I'm the lucky winner! =)

Hubby got his leave pay and treated us to dinner at
Luk Foo restaurant near our place. That's why I'm telling hubby not to take a leave of absence from work for he will be rewarded every January of the following year (he-he) The foods were really great though their prices are quite high.

Here's the quick shot of the place and foods =)

with Aubrey, Ate Lhen, hubby and my mother in law

Deep Thoughts

I'm having a writer's blues the past few days. I kept opening and viewing my blog and closing it again without posting my thought. My new job was really keeping me busy at work and eating a lot of my time even checking my personal emails.

Actually, i have so many things in mind right now. But i don't think i can ever write it all down here. It's 2009 and i want to make a difference and i don't know how to start it just right. I have so many plans ahead but any unavoidable or intentional circumstances may hinder it all. And i will felt that "silent" sadness again.

But then again, I'm thinking positive. And i pray that this year will be our year. The best one.
