Hormones

I’m having a moment right now.  I was feeling this awkward feeling that something is missing and when I think of it, I can’t think of any.  I wanted to eat something I saw in one of the Facebook post about food recipes and when I told them (my family) that I wanted that, they all looked at me like … “What?? Are you pregnant??!” And they are looking too happy that I cringe.  I don’t want to get pregnant anymore (for so many valid reasons) and I want to enjoy my small family as it is.

I want to go to some place, where I can be happy and just lay down and enjoy my mango shake and a slice of my favorite cheese cake, but I can’t because I have work and it requires spending more money, and my weekend is fully booked with household chores that I need to finish before the weekend ends and before I can go and stroll at the mall.  But heaven knows, I really wanted to book that one hotel in Tagaytay for days because of the discount and because I think I really deserve to have a break.

I kind of feel lonely.  I really wanted to sleep all day but you know that I can’t.  I’m thinking of a lot of things to do at the same time and then feel alone because I have to consider other factors.  Well, I blame it on my late period, it came 3 days after my due date and it’s safe to say that  all these hormones I’m feeling is because of that. It will all go away.  Oh gosh, it’s not that easy to be us (women) J

Half the Price

I wonder why that when we’re about to redeem my voucher at Yoshinoya’s in Mall of Asia they have a written notice beside their counter that they decided not to accommodate the vouchers from cleverbuy.com because of some internal issues. I said to hubby, uh! Uh! This is not good! So we ate at Tokyo Tokyo instead and forget the delicious jumbo platter I purchased in Yoshinoya. Today, I dialed their office number and guess what, the phone is busy. I dialed again… still busy. And I thought, well I think there is something fishy going out with this company.

And then I saw the news in TV that customers who purchased big amount of vouchers in cleverbuy like trips in Boracay, Palawan and also overseas like Hongkong and Cambodia stormed in their office and demanding a refund were all greeted with a closed door. And I said, I was robbed with a P250 ($6) off my PayPal account and it saddens me that it happens to thousands of us who trusted their company. I purchased vouchers from them before and I used that within the validity period so I guess they are some mismanagement on their part. But anyways, lessons learned and I hope they can still make up with their lapses and I can still use the voucher (well, I’m wishing for a miracle) someday.

Umbrella

Today is not a good day for me. I’ve heard sad news that I thought I will never hear anything like it anymore. Though I know it will happen anytime soon, I never thought I would feel heavy hearted like what I am feeling right now. And it came up again in an empty handed state. As if you never done anything good for a whole year and as if they can make a decision that easy.

But even if the sun refuses to shine right now, I know that one day silver linings will come though those darkest clouds. And I will always be your shoulder to lean on, I will be strong for you and I will believe in you no matter what. I will be your umbrella. We just need to hold on to our faith that no matter what happens, God will always be there for us. Just keep the faith.

HAPPY 2012!

New Year! 2012! It was such a pain and gain 2011 for us and for my family. I thank God for the wonderful year behind us. Amidst Nathan’s hospitalization before his first birthday, we were able to pull it through with God’s help.

A friend in the office asked us what the most memorable moments we had last year. And I said when God gave Nathan to us and hubby was promoted in his new job. We were able make it through the year and I was able to help my family too. There are so many things that happened and I can’t recall all of them anymore and there are also challenges and sacrifice but when you have strong faith to God anything is possible.

I have high hopes this year. I just wish I will be able to open a small business with my sisters. I just have to focus on that and I pray that God will bless us more.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, friends!! ♥

Annual Party

Last night was our company’s annual Christmas party. It was held in our Sucat warehouse and it gives me time to came early and do some make-ups. I don’t like my white dress that I wore that night. It’s a birthday gift for me from a family friend and I thought when I first wear it that it’s okay but I haven’t notice that the front linings was quite revealing and all I have to do was to cover it all night or else I'll be giving them a free show (ha-ha!)

I didn’t enjoy the party that much because it’s the first day of my period and my back aches was really annoying. The food was not that delicious and I missed the foods we had when we held the party at SMX in Mall of Asia last year. But the production contest per department was the best. It felt so good knowing they always gave their best every year for the grand prize. But I was not even lucky to be picked in the raffle draws and I went home early to rest. Better luck next time!

I still have lots of party to attend! Goodluck! :)

Weekend Report

Back to work again, I really enjoyed my weekend plus a holiday. Would you believe we really spent 2 days by just staying at home? Oh, yes, hubby was possessed by an angel and he decided to have a general cleaning on our room and in the room of my mother in-law. What I did was I explored my cooking skills by doing a homemade pizza. We bought all the ingredients in the supermarket and instead of expensive mozzarella cheese, I used cheddar and it taste great! By the time hubby finished doing his own tasks, he was full on my pizza and almost night time to go out anymore =)

First day of December, I’m almost done in wrapping all the gifts for the youngsters. I still have to think some unique gifts for the oldies. I can now feel the cold breeze in the morning and everywhere I go, you can say that it is already Christmas. I can’t think of anything to give to hubby this year. I would like to order online for his favorite international beers but that is my last options. But he really wanted that, when we went to Subic Bay last Wednesday, he searched some wine/beer stores in the area but his brand is not available. I guess I have to decide as early this week or else, I will not have that much time since I have to do the buying online.

I’m still have full schedule this weekend. I hope I can attend all of it without falling sick. I am so prone to sickness every December and I really hate the feeling. I hope it will spare me this time. Please! =)

The feeling of Christmas

I’ve been very busy every weekend. Hubby rearranged our living room and I’m the one who decorated the whole first floor of our house and it looks like and smell like Christmas now. Every year, I will just stare on our living room and think of a new style for our reused decors. And I’m glad that I still have this creativity in me. It was tiring going up and down while decorating but the result is a fulfilling. I can never imagine Christmas without it.

I already completed the gifts for our godchildren and all is left is for the adults. I hope we can do the shopping before December because I don’t want to be in the lists of those having a Christmas rush. I experienced it once and it will never happen again, it made me sick for one week!

And while we can now feel some cold breeze in the air, common sickness will follow. As of now, I have tonsillitis that really makes me cry especially when I swallow. And the fact that my monthly period is coming, my whole body are aching. I really hate it. I wish I can sleep this pain away.

Menthos Style

Before I leave the house for work I’ve been eyeing my new slipper to bring with me since the weather bureau said that it would be a rainy afternoon today. But I changed my mind and instead wear my black heeled sandals. To spare me from beating the 8:30am time because of the jeepney’s waiting to fill up before moving on, I decided to just cross the street and move to the other side where jeepney’s will just pick you up then proceed.

So I already crossed the other street when I felt that my left sandals loosen up, I stop and I thought “oh my goodness, it did snap apart!” What an embarrassing moment! I scanned the area and I knew some people notice that something 's wrong with my footwear. But I did what I need to do, I picked up my broken sandals, walked barefooted (but with my right sandals on) and careful not to let them notice I’m limping ( just like in a candy commercial) but I was scared that I will step on some broken glass. I immediately called our office and asked my colleague to ask for one of our couriers to pick me up because there is no way I can ride the jeepney with my situation. I wouldn’t dare and I will never ever try. Good thing after few minutes my rescue came and he is really laughing seeing me holding my other sandals.

I was so irritated knowing that I have lots of shoes and it happened to me. I should really rely on my instincts, if I bring those slippers with me, all is well and good despite on that unfortunate events. Charge it again to another experience. Good thing it’s Friday and I can only think of nice weekends ahead.

Rainy Trick or Treat

I thought typhoon Santi will stop the entire trick or treat activities yesterday. It was my first time that I didn’t sleep because the massive winds and rains created a scary sound around our house in Laguna. You can feel that the storm is just beside your house, rattling the roofs and toppling the trees around.

But thank God that it was gone in the morning, though still raining, at least the hard winds stopped. The activities resumed that afternoon to the delight of the kids. My mom and my Aunt made their special “suman” for snacks and we did grilled tuna fish and pork for lunch.

It was Franzine first time to join the trick or treat in Laguna and she was so excited that she can’t sleep or eat the night before the activity. And she walked all the way from house to house shouting “trick or treat!” and jumping around while singing some songs. Vince and Mico came with her and though the organizers told us that we can continue doing it at the club house because it started to rain again, the kids wanted to walk around by themselves, we just followed them with the car in tow (just in case).

Here are some of the photos from the event and typhoon Santi in action =)

while waiting for the rain to subside

the treat trickers!

franzine pose with her fairy dress (look at the fallen trees at her back ground!)

nothing can stop them getting the candies =)

Updates

For the first time this year, I caught this irritating cough that causing me some sleepless nights.  I tried my usual cough medicine but the ever changing weather is not helping me recover.  I’ve been in and out of a hot-cold environment and my body is not responding well and the results, cough with headache and my body aches a lot.

Recent news said that another typhoon (named Santi) is coming to town on or before this weekend. Just in time for the Halloween celebration.  I just hope it will move its way and spare our country in further harm.  It’s really hard to recover from all the losses that these past two typhoons brought us.  Also, we will offer a special mass for Tatay this Friday at St. Andrew Cathedral and some of hubby’s relatives will be coming over.

November 2 (Monday) was declared as a special non-working holiday.  Just in time that I really need to rest this weak body of mine.  We have plans of going to Laguna but it depends if it rains a lot.  I’m still under medication and we will be back to the doctor next week.  I’m still expecting a lot to happen this year.  Let’s pray for that.

Shares of Sorrows

I’ve heard some heartbreaking news. The death and loss of someone you dearly love is imaginable. I admit that when Tatay (my father in-law) died, I don’t know what to do. It’s my first time that someone I used to live in the same house is forever gone and you can’t see him anymore. But I managed to go on with the flow with the help of my husband and we gave each other the strength to move on. This morning, we heard the loss of the innocent baby of our former office mate due to illness, and the story behind that family is not ordinary ( I wrote about that in my previous posts) we are so sad because it’s a family matter and we can’t do anything to help her but through prayers. I hope the baby is happy now with our Dear Lord.

We have our own share of sorrows in this life. I had experience not to eat a proper meal for 2 weeks because I was heartbroken and I thought the pain is unbearable. But after I drained my eyes from the tears, I moved on. With the help of my friends and family I started back to where I used to be, friendly, happy and positive. I cannot advise you on what to do when you are feeling sad and lonely and in pain. We are once became friends until something happened and things changed and I felt that it's much better this way. We often talked about family problems and everything that can lift up our heavy feelings and we both know it feels good that we have someone we can share about our frustrations or happiness in life. But I wish that you can surpass the pain and I know you can do it. I believe in you. God will show you the way.

Sores

The mouth sores on my tongue are hurting thus preventing me to talk much.  My friends would often notice it because I’m quiet and inactive. (lol!) I usually had these mouth ulcers when my period is coming or the sudden change in weather. Rinsing my mouth out with brine (a warm salted water) sometimes help but still painful especially when eating solid foods.  One time, I decided to use the old ways of putting “tawas” or  aluminum Hydroxide on the open mouth sores and it hurts like hell that I cried out loud and hubby came rushing to my side and asked me what happened? Lol! Don’t know till when can I endure this pain and I hope soon.

Well, there’s another type of sore that I know.  These people that are distressing, unpleasant and annoying to the eyes which we called eye-sores. My friend is experiencing this and she can’t do anything about it because they sit side by side at work (ha-ha!) how unfortunate! Now, the only remedy she knows is to put a headset and concentrate at work and tried to maintain her composure and pray that the story telling is over. And that's my advised to her also.  Life is good, so don't waste your breath to these eye-sores =)

When Rain Falls

It is raining non-stop since last night and I think most of Manila areas are already submerge in floods as of this time. I was so late at the office this morning that I was forced to filed half day leave so I won’t get a written warning next month. But I am not alone because most of us are all late and wet and we shared the same sentiments, super traffic. I can endure the rains and a little flood but not the 2-hour traffic on my usual 30 minutes travel going to work. And when I reached the office, I am soaking wet and my head aches (till now). How I wish I should stay home that morning. And I hope this will never happen again tomorrow.

Most of the couriers informed us that they will cancel their shipment delivery and pick up because most of the areas are flooded and major roads are traffic and they are being recalled by their dispatcher back to their office/warehouse. But one particular email from our air courier made me smile. He sent a picture on how flooded their area is to justify his reasons on the delayed pick up or delivery. Here’s the picture he sent to us.

It is still raining hard outside and I wonder how much time I will spend staying in FX taxi before I can reach home. I should recharge my mp3 just in case.

Why You?

If you happen to inform your boss that you had received an invitation to attend a special seminar/training that’s really important in your line of work and all he can reply is “I’m okay with that.  But I guess you have to answer this question, why you?”

For me it implies many obvious reasons but I can’t voice them all out because I might touch some sensitive issues.  You will be caught off guarded of course, questions will race into your mind like, “why not me?” and “What do you want to imply?” or “How will I answer you?”

It was quite a tricky question that needs tricky answers.  Or much better if you will just charge it in your experience.  After all, I received a message that they are on the way to the place where the seminar/training will be held.

I will not need to receive that kind of questions for I can’t promise I will not answer it harshly too. When all you can do is to go straight to your point, whatever it is…right?

Huh! Politics can drive you insane sometimes…really.

Heat Mania

Our local weather bureau said that temperatures in Luzon reached 36.5 degrees Celsius last Monday a record high this year and will remain hot till this day.  That explains why I’m having this annoying head ache and my body felt so heavy (not that I’m fat, I know =) and my mood changes.  You can feel the intense heat and you can’t even bear to walk outside without having an umbrella or shades.  I can’t imagine what will happen if you expose yourself outside the sun from 10am-2pm.

When I reached home, I will automatically ventilate first our room for 5 minutes before I open our air conditioner setting aside the high bill on electricity next month.  I feel so exhausted and the electric fan won’t help either.  The problem is my old ear infection starts to bother me once again due to this intense hot-cold environment. Hubby and I would only go out to stroll after sunset to avoid the sun Heat wave, heat stroke, heat exhaustion or heat stress, whatever you call it, we wish rainy days will start soon.

Summer Rain

Typhoon Emong really did some heavy rains last night.  It was so cold in the office and was the first time that they turned off the aircon when we are constantly whining of the heat before.  It was so cold that I was the only 2 in our area that didn’t bring any sweater or jacket and I envy my office mates that they are all secured with their jackets and I am chilling on my desk.

I went to Puregold after work and I meet with Aubrey and mom.  Aubrey asked for his favorite Cornetto ice cream while it was so cold and raining hard and roamed around the place in her own, but when all the lights went off, he hurried back to us and promised she will never leave us again (lol!) I promised them that we will ate dinner at Jollibee but it was still raining non stop so we settled for a Henlin and noodles dinner in Puregold food stalls.

The weird thing is, after all the heavy rain, traffics and street floods last night, it is all shine today! Actually I bought a jacket with me and  the weather is hot! Gosh! I should have known =)

Shaded

Lucky for us, tomorrow is Paranaque City Day! Meaning, it’s a special non-working holiday for all the paraquenos. My office mate is kind enough to fill my work for tomorrow since my job needs to handle customers all over the Philippine and so I suppose to go to work, with no overtime pay (you just need to off set for some other day). But I begged my office mate that he can take an offset day next Friday if he wants, hubby is also working in Paranaque and we have to take the opportunity for an extra day for ourselves.

Just in time that for Valentine’s Day, I have this new hobby I got from my female officemate who likes to paint her nails in a different colors per finger. And since I also had some nail paints I bought when I really want the shades, I learned to paint my fingers too. Parlor manicurist can murder my nails in an instant, so now, I’m the one cleaning and putting the paint all by myself. Since the color of Valentine is red, I colored my nails in a red/maroon shades top with a natural color with silver glitters. My fingers are contrast to my white keyboard as I’m typing this post.

Tomorrow, we will go to Mall of Asia again. But….with a purpose! We will try to watch the free concert of Boyce Avenue! Imagine that… it’s free! And it’s my new favorite band! They will perform tomorrow at 7pm in the open bay area at back of the mall. I wish… I hope… we can have a better view! Need to take a snap for souvenir photos of them. I also want to watch Marley and Me movie, it’s about a pet dog. And our yellow Labrador named Summer really looks like the Labrador dog in the movie.

Hay, need to finish room cleaning before we can have some fun.
