LOVE OF THE FAMILY

As the day passes by, I’m starting to realize that you and your family and with your true and closest friends will be the only one left on this battle.

I’m learning to accept the fact that we will never be going back to where we are before.  A happy strong and happy team. And that I can never work with the people whom you think will depend you through the worst but the first one to run when the toughs get going.  I can never bear to see their faces and pretend that they are just doing their job.

But I am so grateful that this very moment proves that no matter how hard it is and how you keep tumbling down the hill, they will fight and stay on your side and they will support you all the way - my family.

My family never leaves me, never judge me, never criticize me and never leave my side.  Instead they help me step by step so I can accept and move on.  They help me fight the right thing, to be strong and to regain and bring back my confidence.

I have a few real friends and gained another one.  When these things happened, they show me and supported me and help me to realize that there is life after all the hurt.

I know the real concern from the one who are just getting new updates or just asking me how do I feel. I found out that there are people who will just stand and look at you to fight your own battle.  They will never say anything, just looking at you with the eyes you will never forget and the words you hope they never said.

I will be forever thankful for the love of my family, for the love of God, for the real concerns of my friends, for giving me an extended hand when I needed it most. And for those who believes in me, I will never forget you and you know who you are.

We will never stop believing and we will fight till the end. God is good all the time.

God bless you all!

So Proud

Nathan just had their culmination activity graduating from kinder 2.  In few months now, he’ll be attending school as grade 1.  Come to think of it, my little boy is growing fast now and before I can blink an eye, he will start to do things on his own.  He’ll be celebrating his 7th birthday this year.

I am always proud of my son, he gave us headaches I know.  He’s not even perfect. He can bring out the worst in you, reminding yourself that patience is a virtue, test your blood pressure, or your level of sanity. Sometimes when things get out of hand and I question everything or go back to whatever happens or if we are doing the right thing on raising him. But when such things are questionable, he would do one thing that makes your heart swell on how proud you are for having him.

Their recent culminating activity is one proof that makes us so proud and happy.  He sings live in their mini talent showcase with his classmate and not even shy about it.  He nailed the song, he nailed his get up, he was so handsome wearing his sunglass and he totally rocks the place.  Their emcee called them the kinder garden heartthrob.  Yes, I strongly agree to that one, he's our very own heartthrob.   And even the parents, teachers and audience are congratulating them for a job well done. Definitely one of the main highlights of the program, he was so happy and he knows that he did good that he even asked for a toy from his Daddy because he said he’s very good, dancing and singing up there in the stage as if he really owns it.

He’s getting bigger and older, but on God’s grace, may he grow up happy, full of life and healthy and continue being the heartthrob J

Baby Event

It’s “BER” months again.  I’m starting to count till Christmas day.  Well, I can’t help it, it is always been like that ever since, me counting the days and but this year is extra special. We have our baby Resha now in addition with my super cute but hyper son, Nate.  I can’t help but feel the excitement for them.  We are so blessed by God by giving us our two lovely children.

Along with my best friend who also gave birth a month ahead of me, we are helping each other with our daughters baptismal this October, when she is already set with the reception venue date and church, we still need to go to Malate Church for the possible date of Resha’s baptismal date tomorrow and along with the 1-hour seminar to follow.  I’m done informing the godparents, got all their full names and advised of the tentative date.

Though I already talked to the cake and cupcake makers, I still don’t send the final designs since we need to guarantee the baptismal date.  We agreed to use our favorite caterer (the one we also have during Nate’s baptismal) but we need to know if the functions rooms at Malate Church is available and how much since its been 5 years since Nate’s event happened there.

I still have so much to prepare and plan.  But now, all I know that it’s TGIF and I will use the weekend to enjoy and have a wonderful time with my family.

Happy Weekend, blogger friends! God bless!

Daddy's Day

Today, we celebrate father’s day with the family.  Hubby asked me to cook his favourite dish (Kare-kare) and after lunch, we attended my former officemate’s party for her daughter (and also Christening of her youngest baby girl) at the Phil Navy Clubhouse.  I should have declined the invitation because I think we need a special time with hubby but he agreed to go since the place is minutes away from our house and I wanted to see how Nate will react in a big crowd like that.  Plus I wanted to see my old friend, it’s been seven years since we parted ways and we can only see some updates on each other thru Facebook.

At the venue, I can see the curiosity in Nathan’s eyes.  He kept on looking at the hanging balloons and he observed the kids running around the party.  So when he asked me for balloons, I said you can get one from the stage and he walked carefully, crossed the stage, get the balloons and get back to us.

And when the programme is over, that’s when we saw Nathan dance with the celebrant right in front of the stage and play with other kids.  We scrambled taking some pictures and I asked hubby to capture the moments in his cell phone video.  We couldn’t contain the happiness right that moment looking at him having the time of his life.  Now we know he can have another party for him on his birthday knowing he can entertain his guest in his most energetic ways.

We went to church after the party, I thank God for having such a wonderful family.  I thank Him for giving me my ever understanding husband.  I am so happy.

Missing You

Last night I think about my father.  I’m not getting used to it, that he’s in our Lord right now.  I can’t shake the feeling of loneliness.  I am missing him especially during family occasions.  I will tell them that it’s his favourite, Papa wants that food, and he used to ask me to cook that.

I just wish I have more time.  He knew that I am buying more time, I was once told him that.  But he’s gone now and I know he misses us too.  And I terribly missing all the laughter we had the jokes and the never ending stories.  His birthday will be on July.  I know he will be happy seeing us cooking his favourite foods that day.  We miss you, Papa.

Taken during Papa's birthday last 2009.

New Role

We’re having major changes in our family system this month.  I will be handling down all the expenses and planning starting this week instead of hubby taking care of the expenses and I on the planning.  As I’m taking down all possible expenses for this month (since we really need to adjust on once a month payday of hubby) I know this is a tough job to do.  And my head starting to ache thinking I need to save for Nathan’s future.

But I know I can pull this off.  I just need to make sure that everything will be covered and I need lot courage to make it through.  I am praying to have more savings before the year ends and so help me God.

Missing KoyKoy

I am missing this boy or should I say, this big boy beside my hubby.  It’s been years since I last saw him and during my father’s wake that we have given a chance to see him again.  And he changed a lot, he became shy who hardly talk or maybe it really feels so awkward seeing us after all.  He is mature looking even though he’s only turning 12 before the month ends.

My older sister and I tried to communicate with him in any way we can, we prepared him foods and I told him to just go in the internet shop so he won’t get bored and I will be the one to pay the fees.  And he started to loosen up.  And I can’t help myself but to feel sad with the whole thing, with the things turned out, with the situation, with the wrong minds and wrong people.  I miss the old kid that used to laugh with us and being so sweet and asking us for something. We missed seeing him grow. And it pains me looking at his sad and lonely eyes.  Above all that,  I just wish him all the love, happiness and luck in the world.  It might be the last time we will be able to see him ever again but he knows that we love him very much.  In the right time and in the right reason, we can be together again, happily.  May the Good Lord guide him always.

Can't Cry Hard Enough

My hubby had a perfect shot that day.  If it just another ordinary day or we are just vacationing elsewhere, it would be picture perfect.  Great day, good weather and we are far away from home.  But that perfect shot is from my father’s burial.  As we let those balloons up in the air and we cried for his soul to be with our Lord God, I know he’s free.

It’s been 2 weeks now and I still cry on my sleep.  Sometimes, I feel that he’s still there in our house, waiting for us to visit them.   I feel sorry that it was not a good year for hubby and me last year.  I have so many plans for him but my hands are tied.  Instead, I make sure that we visit them every weekend to help my sister in her canteen business and Nathan will be there in the house entertaining them.

I wrote something in the balloon I was holding before I release it.  I wrote there that Papa will be with God now and that he rest in peace and I love him very much.  I have so many I hopes and I wish in my mind but I know it makes no difference now.  I just pray that I hope he understands me and that I hope he feels that I love him.

I love you, Papa.  May the Good Lord guide you in His arms.  Rest in Peace.

Traditions

I wanted to go home with hubby and my in-laws after Papa’s burial ceremony but they told me I have to stay for another day for the Gulgul tradition.  And then it came to me that we have done it before when my grandmother died when we were just kids.  So I have to let Nathan go with hubby to Manila that night so I can work with all the things to do before going to the beach.  They usually did that in the river but since the river has dried up, the next choice is the beach.

So the tradition is like one will have to pour something on our head, a mixture of burned to ashes dried tree sap, blood of chicken and I don’t know the rest of the ingredients.  We were instructed to fall in line, from the eldest to the youngest and never to look back (because they said we will see Papa if we look back) and we shouldn’t enter to the place we exited after we dip ourselves to the salty water.  That means we have to go far away from the shore just to get back to our rented cottage but we follow the tradition and that was it.

I’m kind of having a weird feeling that all were happy and were all there because of Papa.  I still have this moment when I looked around and he’s not with us anymore.  We brought the left over foods and fruits and we had some fun in the videoke with my cousins.  I tried to shake away the feeling of emptiness.  That’s why that night after we got home, I packed my bags and told my sisters that we should go home even though were so tired and I wanted to hit down the bed to rest.  I need to sort out my feelings first.  I’m missing my father so much I need to go away.

They have plans to going back to the province at the 40th day of Papa’s death but I can’t go back there.  Not just yet.  My brother promised to go home from Qatar on Papa’s first year death anniversary next year.  Maybe then I can accept that he’s now gone.

A New Year's Wish

The year is almost up.  And were about to begin the Year of the Faith (for Catholics) and Year of the Water Snake (for Chinese).  But my only wish and pray for this coming year 2013 are for my family to remain strong and bonded together.  Whatever challenges and pressures in our lives, we will always be there for each other just like we were before.  For my family to stay healthy and keeping the faith and thinking the positive side of life and that may all hardships will bring us closer to one another instead of keeping us apart.

I have met the coolest people this year courtesy of the 3 coolest ex-housemates in PBB house.  I will always all the fun and laughers and challenges we had and making our group the coolest group in town.  I still have some communications with my friends in high school and even college and my other groups from the previous season of PBB.  I will be forever grateful for the trust and happiness they have given me.  I still have a strong team at work and though was facing another challenges company wide, I hope our team/project will remain intact and strong for more years.

I can only wish that our Good Lord bless my family that He may guide us to the right path and to withstand all the challenges we encounter.  I feel so blessed having my hubby, my baby Nate, my hubby’s family and relatives and my family around.  I hope for the best this year.  And I wish you all, my dear readers, my blogger friends, my friends who stay with me all these years.

I wish you all a happy New Year and may God bless us all!

Canteen

I’m proud to say that finally, after all the planning and with some help of my cousin in the province, my family are now venturing into food business.  Last week, we started the small canteen store just near our place and it feels good to know that although were new in the business and at the area it feels good that many people and those who knew us wanted to taste our meal.  We are working as one on this one and I cooked the first batch of the menu on our opening day.  I am so happy to see that they like the taste and they keep coming back for more as my older sister told me last night over the phone.

I know we have a lot of things to do to improve our services and the place itself but with the help of God and my family’s perseverance, I know we can make it big in this business.

After the Rain

Month of July is about to end and I’m expecting a lot this coming August.  Well, aside from the fact that it’s my birth month, I know it will be a very busy month for me.  Big events at work, social life, family, friends and acquaintances will make me busy and I’m hoping for a fruitful outcome.  I’m praying for hubby’s life changing decision at work.  I always told him that I’ll go wherever he wants to go.  I will always be his sidekick, his shoulder to lean on and a friend plus a wife to talk to.  If God gave him the sign and His blessings, I told him not to waste another opportunity and he should grasp it firmly in his hands.

I’m so glad that my brother surpassed his challenges, too.  It was mind blowing for the whole family and I stop the urged to confront his wife when she leaves a message to my face book account asking for sympathy.  I love my brother but I told him that I need more time.  And he understands where I am coming from and he never pressed on the matter anymore.  He will always be the best brother in the world for me, no more whys and what. :D

75

Papa turned 75 years old yesterday and I took a leave of absence from work to celebrate another year with him.  My other siblings did the same way too and we said we shouldn’t let Papa know that we were all coming together but my Mom had a slip of a tongue and told our father that we will coming over that morning. Ha-ha!
It was just a simple celebration, we cook Papa’s favourite dishes, grilled pork and eggplant, chopseuy and pansit and he requested for fruit salad which I made it the other night and my brother from Qatar called to say his birthday wish and he said he’s in charge with the red wine.
We planned to do the same with my Mama next month.  Well, we have 3 birthday celebrations this August including me and my twin nephews and our mother.  This means more party to come and I will look forward to it.

Healing Stage

We bump with an old friend last week.  No, he’s more than an old friend, we consider him like one of our family.  And things get rough and we parted ways not knowing what went wrong.  He’s closest to my hubby and he loves my parents so much and my nephew who he particularly raised for 6 years.  He never forgets.  When he meets my Mom and my sister the last time, he cried while reminiscing the old times.  He said he never wanted to go and distance himself to us, but he thinks it’s the right way so things won’t be that complicated anymore.

I keep on thinking on what happened, we really did bond with him not just on the things he could and he can give us.  He considers us his family because all his family and relatives are living abroad.  So when we parted our ways, it was so painful that he planned to dissolve his company and go back to the US and stay there forever.  He’s asking for a sign from God and then He gave him the sign and he aborted the plans.  When my hubby and I are talking last night about him, I felt the pain, I also felt that long time ago and I hate the feeling that it’s all going back as if the wound is still fresh.  I wish we could all back to good.  But I know I’m wishing for the impossible.  Things will never be the same again and I just pray that he’ll forgive and forgets.  If we can heal the wounds on his behalf, we would do it. May our God Lord help him to move on and heal his broken heart.

Mom's Special Day

We celebrated Mother’s day at the newly opened Shakey’s restaurant in Paranaque with my hubby’s relatives. We missed my Mom who usually celebrates with us but can’t be with us that day because she need to rest after having a numb feeling on her feet because of high blood pressure.  We just went to their house and celebrate with her a day before their special day.  She looks happy and relaxes by just looking at her grandsons and granddaughters playing around the house.  I asked hubby if we can let Nathan sleep with them once a month aside from a whole day visits every week because I can feel that it is what makes my Mom so happy.

As a mother like them now, I wish I can have their powers to raise my kid just like they raised us before.  I wanted to concentrate more with Nathan when he started to go to school but I hope we have enough savings by then, or I can go on some small time business while attending to my family needs.  I just wish my mother will stay longer with us so she can guide me with Nathan.  I am forever grateful with her for raising five of us without any nanny help or relatives by her side.  I can’t thank her enough and I wish I can give all she wants now.  I'm being sentimental right now :)

The dinner date with my hubby’s mom and relatives were quite fun with Nathan digging more on the mojo potatoes.  We hope we can go out together like this once again before the school year starts.

Riding Team

Summer time and kids are all in school vacation much to the delight of my son, Nathan. He loves to play with his older cousins and he enjoys every minute with them. Nathan already knew how to feel sad whenever they will bid him goodbye or they are not around. They wish I can still have another baby so he’ll not feel alone and that is our fervent prayers, too. But for now, we are his best friends and he and his Dad’s biggest playground is the Mall of Asia.

Now he’s trying to ride not only in the usual Merry-go round but he loves to try other children’s rides like the new Honey bee ride at the sea side area and the indoor Ferris wheel. I can’t believe he’s not scared riding that high unlike me who doesn’t want to just even try. I hate the feeling of like something is twisting your stomach and making me throw up.

He’s having a time of his life playing. And it feels like I’m being a kid again seeing how happy he is. I simply love his smile. It brightens everyone else feeling around him. Well, another to-do lists whenever he hears the word, Mall.

South bound

It was another first for baby Nathan and after a year for us when hubby decided to visit Tagaytay City again. I’m quite excited about it and the fact that you can at least unwind from all the traffic, dust and stress. We both needed that and we went to visit the usual spots in Tagaytay buying foods and souvenirs along the way.

Nathan is a natural traveller, I guess when the time comes that we'll need to go abroad, he will be more delighted than me. He’ll go to sleep and then wakes up without showing any signs of tantrums and he loves to look outside. He really is like hubby who loves to go out if given any chance during weekends.

It rained but thank God it stops before it spoils our day. We had a great time and we love the pineapples, corns, bananas and other fruits we bought along the highway. We also stopped to buy at Bag of Beans store's all time favorite raisins bread. I hope to spend another day in Tagaytay, and I hope I can get a big discount for an overnight stay next year. Fingers crossed.

Country Road

I hesitated at first to agree when hubby said he has this plan of going to his father’s province to visit the cemetery of his late aunt.  It her birthday tomorrow and he keeps on saying about it over and over again as if asking my approval.  He owes a lot to his late Aunt who’s the older sister of his father.  He is her favorite among her nieces and nephews and she believes on what my hubby and she’s been his silent supporter all though out.  I cannot take the gratitude and respect my hubby wants to give to his aunt by saying no to his plan.  So with his new car and with baby Nathan in tow, we will push through with the earlier plans and we’ll all go to Pampanga as early as 530am because his plate number ends with the number coding scheme that falls on Friday so we have to leave the metro road before 7am or else a violation will be serve.

I think my eldest sister, my Mom and his Mom will come too and it will be their first long road trip after more than a year.  I already inform my superior that I will be on leave tomorrow and I hope I still have enough vacation leave to use next month.

Come to think of it, I’m feeling excited for tomorrow’s trip.  Oh, well :)

Smile :)

We had this picture taken while celebrating our house help’s 21st birthday and hubby bought a tripod for my camera so I didn’t let this moments passed by without capturing these happy faces in my SLR camera. Mico left to study in Cavite and the next time he’ll visit us will be on baby Nathan’s first birthday celebration in October. And Nathan will be walking straight by then so it will surely be a surprise for them.

Well, I’m a little melancholic these past few days because of my some family issues but seeing my baby’s progress every day chases all the blues away, his little cute smile and angelic laugh made you realize that life’s all worth it. So, just be happy and trust God. Everything will be alright and every one will be happy again (just like in the pictures). Aja, aja!! :)

Matters of the Heart

I’m having a heavy heart today but I know being down and sad won’t help solve the problem. It will just make things worse and I’ll start blaming them for what they became today. I’m tough; at least I know I am. Because if I’m not, I don’t know how will I ever help them. But anyways, at the end of the day, I know I will pull it through. I asked one sign to lighten up my heart, and it came an hour before I went home from work, a pizza delivery. And eating with your colleague while laughing at some jokes chase the blues away even for a meantime.

I always believe that with God’s help I can even move the mountains. I always pray for guidance because I fear that when I’m angry I tend to say things that I will regret later. So, I asked God to give me tons of patience and strength. I only want to live in this world happy and contented, with family and friends to be with as I venture in this so called life. I will always live one day at a time. I will always be thankful for having a wonderful husband and a handsome son. No problems will take me down. God will always lead the way.

We are supposed to watch a movie today, but we cancelled it because of a problem that keeps on coming back no matter I we tried to forget and ignored. I just hope it will leave us alone and in peace. It may be impossible but nothing is impossible with God. That sealed it all.

Happy Weekend to all :)
