Summeriffic at Subic

We had a 2-day company outing at Grande Island Resort in Subic Bay, Zambales. I was thrilled and excited and I really prepared myself to this once a year event. But I can’t sleep and my back started to hurt again and I’m afraid that I can’t wake up even with alarm. I slept while sitting and I suddenly woke up to find that it’s already 4:45am and the assembly time in our office is 5pm! You will never imagine how I did all what I need to do that morning and hubby sent me outside and wait for the taxi. Still early, the traffic was clear and I was just on time.

The place is great and the sea water is inviting. We gathered in their function room, had a light sandwich snacks and proceeded in the beach front for the relay games . It was searing hot outside and I can see that everyone is irritated. After lunch, we get at the information area our room key and we are so lucky that my three supposed to be room mates from other projects didn't come so I let my 2 office mates to stay with me.

I will let the pictures do the talking ;)

Love Moon

We are wondering why after we left the church in Greenbelt in Makati yesterday, many people keep staring at the sky and taking some pictures. We went to the open space and checked the sky and I was amazed when I looked and saw a star (which i found out later that it is the planet Venus) sitting on the cresent moon and it was so beautiful.

I made some research and found out that it is known as a planetary occultation in which a rare display will happen in the twilight sky when the Earth, Moon and Venus are all in alignment. This astronomical phenomenon occurred when the Moon came between Venus and the Earth.

Whatever scientific explaination it has, I'm just in awed that I was able to witness it like everyone else.

Election Fever

I still have some hang ups from the election held yesterday.  And to think that my bet for presidency lost in the battle, I’m really upset and my body lost some energy, too. Ha-ha! I had some second thoughts in voting that day. Because we all know how the voting system works here in the Philippines.  Long line, can’t find your precinct number, overcrowded place because of the poll watchers and by-standers and the worst, you can’t find your name in the lists.  But this automated election process is a new milestone from our government and I want to try it and to satisfy my curiosity.  So i travelled back to our old place in Pasay to vote.

Good thing the machine assigned to our area hasn’t done much trouble unlike from what we’ve seen is the news that most of the machines are not working, paper jams, can’t transmit the data to the servers and more.  I let my sister fall in line and I’m next to her.  I have a hard time voting and choosing from our local candidates simply because I don’t know them and I have no idea on their platforms.  But whatever, I shade only the few good people I know.  I also chat with some old friends in our place and we recalled all the street games we played when we were young.  Now, they are the one looking after their kids playing in the plaza :)

Aside from the long wait, I had a fun time with the twins, Vince and Aubrey.  Having them in one house means chaos but it will make you laugh till you drop.  But one thing I noticed, they are growing so fast

Happy Mother's Day!

This is the time when we all think of what we can give to the very special person in this world. And I’m so proud and happy to say that I have the opportunity to spend one quality time with my mother today. Hubby thought of going to Ocean Park in Luneta but since Mama and I have been there before, we just go and do a little street shopping in Quaipo and we both agreed to meet at Mall of Asia for the dinner.

And we both glad that we made them happy today. Hubby said my mother in-law and his Aunt together with Mico and Aubrey had so much fun inside the park. While I bought all the things my mom wants while we were strolling at every corner of Quiapo and had a snack and some nice chat in Greenwich. I wish I can have more time with Mama. I want to give it all for her and I’m so glad that she is proud of me.

Just want to make space to greet also my blogging Mom’s and friends and family. I salute you guys for making things possible for your children. Happy Mother’s Day!

Net book

This is my first entry post using my brand new laptop. Yes, hubby bought me a Toshiba Net book 305 yesterday and I never knew that he'll give me my gift wish from him since my birthday is still 3 months away. I just kept silent while he's checking on some other brands but deep inside I'm starting to scream. Is he really going to buy it? Am I having that laptop tonight? Ha-ha!

And I'm ecstatic when he finally agreed to the price and he let me choose the laptop color between red, blue and brown. I choose red because it looks classy and chic :) No words can describe the feeling, I can only thank him for giving me my special wish.

All the times that I gave him some expensive gifts he would always return it with a triple price tag. He never forgets. And that is only one from the many good traits of my hubby. I am proud and I'm so blessed for having such a wonderful man as my better half. Did I tell you that there are reasons to be happy? Well, I am surprised too, but this is one surprise that I am really grateful =)

Just Happy

I have so many reasons today to feel happy. But it boils down to these reasons why I should feel great today.

Thank God it’s Friday once again.

Hubby finally got their much awaited yearly bonus.

Monday is another special non-working holiday because of the national elections.

Sunday is Mother’s day and I’m thinking on what can I give my mom and my mother in-law on their special day.

I still have some body pains and swing moods because of my period but that’s nothing because I only think of happy thoughts now.

Happy Weekend, friends! =)

Overheat

I’m having a problem with my delayed monthly period. I got worried that I already checked on my OB Gyne’s schedule this Saturday.  Good thing that I had my period yesterday, at least I am spared from going to the hospital again =) But my delayed period caused me a lot of pains, back aches, laziness, head ache and almost everything that every woman endures when having a period.

I think of leaving from work but I know if I stay at home, I will consume a lot of electricity (that doubles this month) I’ll be online and I’ll be using the aircon the whole day because the heat here in Manila is overbearing! I think it can kill any man exposed within the time of 11am-2pm and under the sun.  And I don’t think the night helps lessen the heat.   Without aircon in your room, you will have a hard time sleeping at night and less sleep will really irritates you.

And in times of this, you think you are somewhere in the place where there is snow.  Just like in the picture below.  So cold!! (ha-ha!).

Family Day

This is the week where we spent most of our time with our respective families and relatives. April 26 was my father in-law’s first year death anniversary and we had a mini-reunion with some of hubby’s long distance relatives. Some of them stayed in our house and enjoying their free time whiles their children in on summer vacation.

My mom, sister and the twins of my brother will drop here in the morning and our house will surely fill with laughter since Mico and Harvy (hubby’s nephews to his cousin) are still here with us. Hubby wanted to watch Iron Man 2 at the Mall of Asia but just decided to stroll at the bay walk and wait for the fireworks display that started at 7pm. We ate dinner at Gerry’s Grill. We are so full so I asked hubby if we can play. I know I shouldn’t get into the games at Tom’s world but the P1.00 coin slot game where if you drop it at the bottom of the machine will be equivalent to 2 tickets was so addicting that I never knew I already spent P400 ($9) in exchange of 744 tickets. But we had fun and that’s what matters most.

I miss the 50% price off in French baker so we decided to wait in the line and wait for the closing of the store. We had the chance to buy all the breads we want because we are number 1 in the line. I was tired walking back and forth but I miss doing it with my hubby who came home after a 4-day business trip again in Dumaguete. What a weekend indeed :)
