Never Ever

I stopped by Mt. Arayats halo –halo in Mall of Asia yesterday with my family to claim the voucher I purchased online via livingsocial site.  When I handed them the paper voucher, the two ladies inside the kiosk asked me if I had a reservation, I said I called their reservation number last Thursday and was advised that they are accepting walk-in.  I said to the lady who answered my phone that so I can claim it on weekdays? She said, yes and didn’t even bother to have my name.  Trusting them, I said okay, thank you.  But here they are, telling me that that’s impossible because they are no longer accepting reservations because they are fully booked and they are only accepting walk-ins during weekdays.  I was so shocked hearing their explanations because first, the expiry period of voucher is today and second, the walk-in during weekdays is not even stipulated in the voucher terms. So how can they say that they are fully booked when they know how many vouchers was placed in their branch?

But I don’t want to ruin my day and we are happy having a quality bonding time with my hubby and baby so I just told them to write their name on my voucher and stating the reason of their refusal to accept my voucher.  And I leave them in peace though I was really upset that time.  But my hubby said we can go to Razon’s and eat halo-halo that tastes much better and delicious too.  I won’t forget to raise a complaint to online site where I bought the voucher and promised myself I will never ever buy anymore voucher from this Mt. Arayat again.

October Get Together

After many months of planning and collaboration with other groups, the much awaited get together party with the sweetest and lovely trio of Jai, Alec and Joj was held last Sunday.  Thank God that their schedules weren’t on our GTG schedule and all is well that afternoon.  I was so stressed out but it’s all worth it.  I can see the smile and laughter and they were jiving in with the crowd.  Their family was so supportive and even join the games.  I couldn’t ask for more with the group I have today.  They’re the best, despite of the fact that some of them are miles away from us, you can feel with the way they supported us that they are just beside us, tapping our shoulders and telling us we can do this.  And we did and I’m so grateful for our group.  Different folks and strokes and different point of views but we are one.

We end our happy night having a videoke sing a-long near the twins place.  And we went home all tired but happy.

Sleep over

It’s been a while since I had a sleepover with my friends.  When Star Magic ball was held in Makati Shangri-La hotel, my online friends decided to have a room reserved for our favourite twins in PBB.  I was quite anxious that I got the opportunity to be with them overnight.  Their mom left that evening and she let us take care of her twins, and I was so flattered for the trust she gave us.  We had a great time with them and we ordered foods and drinks and we talked all day and night though I can’t overcome my sleepy head so I dived at the empty bed and take a nap.  I had a chance to bump with my old friends while watching the stars walking slowly towards the red carpet.  I’m glad they still know me after so many years.  And things changed and they look older from the last time we parted ways.

The twins left early morning because of their provincial tour that afternoon and all of the sudden; the room was empty with just the two of us left to tend with some things to buy for our next event which is for the twins post birthday celebration with our group.  I rushed to take a bath (and I also tried to dive at the bathtub, ha-ha!) and stayed a little longer to feel the comfort of the luxury hotel. After all, we paid a hefty sum just for a 1-day stay.

I went home in a sleepy state.  But having a great time with your new friends makes all the effort worth it.  I was so happy that I’ve got to know them all, especially the twins and Alec.

Magical Weekend

Despite hubby’s pain in his right knee and baby Nathan’s colds, we decided to join our company’s first family day in Enchanted Kingdom last weekend.  Good thing, my niece Reine, joined us to help me with Nathan since hubby can’t carry him that long because of his injury.

All is well in the bus and Nathan happily greeted my officemates and their family and make friends with their kids as well.  Until we reached the place and the moment we stepped down the bus, it was so hot! I said to myself, oh uh, this is not going to be fun because most of rides are situated out door.  I tried hard to make Nathan feel comfortable because I wake him up early and I worried that he’ll throw his tantrums anytime soon.

We tried to ride most of the available rides and some of it was just for kids and I thought the time was so limited because we spent our time cooling ourselves in the air conditioned restaurant we saw along the way.  But it was nice to see my officemates with their family and meeting them along the way.  The games were expensive and we end up having just 2 small stuffed toys as prizes.  Hubby promised Reine to go there in weekdays so we can enjoy all we want.  Nate surprisingly enjoyed his first trip to Enchanted Kingdom and he slept in the bus on the way home.

Unlimited

I know I had a lot of problems sticking to my promises that I have to cut all my food intakes and go for a rigid exercise, plans of enrolling to a gym and fulfilling all these this year. But I just can’t resist all these lovely offers from a living well site offering as much as 60% discount when you purchase a voucher. Sometimes I have no choice but to avail it once I find it truly tempting especially when it is all about buffet lunch or dinner in a hotel or a salt scrub plus body spa near our place.

I surprised hubby in his post birthday last 2 weeks ago with a buffet lunch at Manila Pavilion and though he had an idea after I insists to go there after we hear a mass at Malate Church, he just smile and said, I think I know where were going. And yes, it was an amazing experience touring the city just to eat endlessly. But what I like most is their desserts (I think I like the main courses in Trader’s more) and their special freebies of bunny milk chocolates. Well, it is just once every 3 months or it depends on the offers but I think I like the idea of buying more (in a less price, of course) for to have a taste of what Metro Manila hotels can offer.

Serendra

Hubby wants to practice his driving skills so he did all thedriving whenever we went to stroll elsewhere. Our company held our 1st general assembly for this year yesterday and I thought I can have a little coffee with my officemates after that. But hubby suddenly had an idea to go to Global City in Taguig and decided to pick me up after the event. It’s our first time going there with the car and hubby was lost because I have this trouble reading street signs and directions because I didn’t have my eyeglass with me. But we eventually reached Market! Market! and we safely parked our car.

As usual, Nathan had a blast walking around Bonifacio High Street. He doesn’t want to be held while walking and he loves to chase all the dogs walking around the area. I just can’t believe he’s growing that fast and smart too. It was another first for my mother in law too, who often told us she wants to see what Serendra looks like. I’m eyeing Serendra to celebrate Valentine’sDay but I think I have to surprise hubby with a buffet dinner in a hotel.

Off Peak Outing

My mind tells me not to go to our company outing last Saturday because it’s only a whole day affair plus hours of long travel but a part of me wants to go to this new resort in Cavite. I urged an office mate that is also hesitating to join that time and she obliged so I have all the reasons to go too. I prepare my things that night and wish to have fun because I’ll be exchanging one precious day playing and being with my son, Nathan when I decided to go.

Tanza Oasis beach resort looks great. I can feel the nice ambiance of the place and the excitement of every one to dip in the cold pool. The weather was not that hot but the humid breeze from the sea makes you feel sticky and lazy to move around. We had a usual company games and like before they asked me to join the tug of war game for females and we lost. I just don’t know where on earth they’ve got that extra strength that they’ve easily pulled us and I can feel my hand aching when I let go of the rope. I really felt weak after that.

My SLR camera works overtime and we just enjoyed every place we can find and did some fun shots. Though we never swim in the brown sea water (due to heavy rains) we did some funny jump shots and it was quite a scenes. But I enjoyed our outing. I’m not quite happy that I still got a dark skin even though I put a lot of sun block lotion before playing volley ball. Oh well, I can't have all the luck :)

Sick :(

I thought I can get away when most of the people around me are getting sick one by one. I can only pray that it will never happen to me but I was wrong. I got sick and it really makes me weak. I can’t take care of Nathan because he might get the virus and bacteria and good thing hubby is here to take charge. Nate’s grandmas are out to attend some important occasions and we were left to stay at home. Hubby is quite tired to go out for the first time and when he realize that it’s weekend and we should enjoy our rest days, it was too late, my colds is getting worst and I’m having cough also. Not just that, due to colds and having a little sleep, my head is aching all the time! I can only cry. And when I tried to stop Nathan from falling from the bed, something happens to my neck and suddenly I have this painful stiff neck! Talk about being lucky.

I hope I can better now that I’m starting to drink my medicine. I hate being like this. I’m hoping I can get well soon.

Shots and Lunch

I am so lazy to wake up early and at the back of my mind saying “its weekend, I deserve to sleep longer” but having a baby who wakes up early everyday and just keep pinching your face, I don’t think I will ever get my wish for now. And we also had our 2nd shot on HPV vaccine yesterday at the office so I need to do things faster. I’ve met with my girl colleagues and as planned we went to eat at Serye Restaurant where we crave and ordered for the boneless crispy pata. We can feel the pain in our left arms with the vaccine finally seeping in but no one can stop us to enjoy the delicious foods in front of us. We finished our meal with a dessert called mango rhum cake and I wonder if I can make that cake in the future.

We headed to a nearby Shopwise super mart and little Hail suddenly asked her mom if Chelle and I are her godmother. We laughed and decided to play along but we end up buying her a pair of Dora sandals in which we saw how happy she was with that simple gesture. Even with simple things we gave them, they will reward you with their prettiest smile and cute thank you’s. We end up buying in a bakery supplies for my baking needs like parchment paper and a pie pan. I have this urge to bake again.

Happy Weekend!

Baby's Weekend

Nathan got a change to stroll in Mall of Asia again. Hubby initially wanted to go to Greenbelt 3 and it was supposed to be Nate’s first trip to Makati. But it rained that afternoon and we think Greenbelt is more of an open air type than Mall of Asia so we decided it can wait and MOA is safer and we can get a cab without risking Nathan’s health when it rains.

We are so delighted to know that Nathan had a good time moving around and being happy. I strongly believe he will end up like his daddy’s fondness inside the mall. So when we stop by in one corner while we waited for Daddy, I was surprised to see that Nate happily poses for the pictures. I can another trip next week after Nathan’s 2nd flu vaccine.

Planning Week

My weekend was so busy I really need a good massage after our long day in Quaipo. We went there to develop the picture invitations of Nathan for his coming baptismal this March. It takes almost 2 hours because of too many customers so we decided to stroll around. We planned to go to Malate Church to register Nathan and pass the requirements but we don’t have much time to do that so we will prioritize it next week.

Tomorrow, we will go to Divisoria to pick up the souvenirs I bought last weekend. I guess I need an energizer to move on. I'm wondering where in the world does hubby getting all his strength? He seems so full of energy!

Nathan's invitations made by a friend. So cute!

Stay at home

Today, I fulfilled hubby’s request to cook for them. We went at the wet market early and bought his wish viand for the day which is pork binagoongan. I said last time that I will cook the baked lasagna since I have a lasagna noodles I bought in Subic the last time we went there. He reminded me to buy the ingredients, meaning that is his requested snack in the afternoon.

Cooking lunch is an easy job for me and they like the new variations I’ve done so that it will not turn too salty but I never imagined that baking lasagna will be that tiring and will take too long to cook. It’s my first time to cook it and I told my hubby that I will never question again why the price of lasagna in a restaurant or fast food is way too higher than spaghetti (ha-ha!). After I baked the lasagna, I’ve got two thumbs up approval from my mother in law and most especially from my hubby. But I swear I will never cook/bake it again except for some very special occasions. I was so tired I told hubby I want to sleep early.

So, who says that staying at home during weekend can be too boring? Well, not for me, I enjoy staying at home while reading my books or just cooking for them.

Rest and Relax

This weekend, we will just stay at home and relax. After some controversial incident happened at work last week, I felt I needed this much needed rest. Though it’s not much physically but more on mental aspect, in due time all of us will have our own peace of mind and we can all move on. As for me, I’ll regard this as a new chapter in life, knowing that you really can’t please everybody and trust and honesty is all that matters.

Staying at home makes me concentrate on the books my hubby gave me. I’m a fast reader and just hours of continues reading I can finish one whole book which has 3 different stories. I can’t find time to read those books because we focused on watching the US series we bought in Quiapo and that occupies most of my time after work and during weekends and made me feel sleepy at work. I hope hubby will not ask me to go to Quiapo since we need to buy the last two seasons of Tudors and the season one of Glee is incomplete so we need to replace it.

It feels good to be at home and enjoy the moment with your family. Happy Weekend, friends! :)

Moments with Mom

Mom came to our house yesterday unannounced.  I screamed Mom!!! from our room and asked her to go up.  I missed Mom. I was thinking that morning to call her so she can go with us in Quiapo.  But I guess we really had that strong bond together, she said after they ate lunch she suddenly thought of visiting me and she dressed up in a hurry.

Sometimes, I’m thinking if I am rich, I’ll tour Mama around the world.  She loves to travel and stroll (just like hubby) and I know it will make her very happy.  I just let her pick anything she wants at the accessories store in Quiapo, she’s fond on the crystal bracelets in different colors.  I think she’s collecting it.  Then she bought vegetables and fruits, too.

Heavy rains stop our strolling moments so we take a cab and went to Mall of Asia where we meet my mother in-law.  We ate dinner at the bay, and our first time at Presidents tea house.  After that, hubby and I watched the Evil Resident 4 and Mama with my in-law waited for the 50% sale of French Baker.  We just right on time after the movie and I go with Mama and choose whatever breads she wants.  I know she’s happy and I’m happy that I made my Mom happy. I hope to do that more often.

Mom ordered this delicious foods herself :)

A Day at Shangri-La

One of the top networks here in the Phils. held their annual Star Magic Ball yesterday at Makati Shangri-La and Ann Li of Pinoy Big Brother was one of the lucky talent of ABS-CBN who attended the event and was included in the cotillion dance.  Some of the global supporters of Ann sponsored her stay in Makati Shangri-La hotel were we booked  in advance since we know that it will be fully booked days before the gathering.

I was so amazed by the bonding we had for this group.  Imagine, they booked for two more rooms.  We came from different walks of life, young and old combined but we blended well.  And Ann is a doll.  Her beautiful perspective and her appreciation for those who supported her were amazing.  She never gets tired on thanking them for all the gifts, support and love she’s having right now.  Indeed, it was a night to remember and though I really wanted to stay there overnight, I have work and I need to go home.

Here are some pictures from last night.

Ann Li of PBBTC edition.. gorgeous!

Tacos

A homemade tacos for snacks.  Our favorite though a little bit tiring to prepare because you need to chop thinly the cheese, onions, cabbage and tomatoes.  Plus you have to fry one by one the molo wrappers.  But with  ground pork on top, you will have to crave for more! Also best with hot sauce.

It a rain then shine weather so we decided to stay at home and because I'm too lazy to move around the house. But hubby is begging me to go out and stroll, so we will go to Mall of Asia later. Good thing tomorrow is a holiday and I have plenty of time to rest.  Oh, my, I really need to rest :)
