Happy 2nd Month Nathan!

I heard Nathan quitely moving in his crib when I entered our room after taking a bath this morning. I know he’s awake then I picked him up and then he started smiling. What an angel in an early hour of the morning! I greeted him happy 2nd month and he answered with a happy “Oh” he was starting to baby talk and we are all excited to hear his cute voice. I told him that daddy will buy his cake later.

When I put him back to his crib he started smiling again and I can’t help but to take a lot of pictures and a video of him. Maybe he can feel that there’s an occasion and he’s the celebrator :)

I thank God for Nathan. He’s a healthy and bubbly boy. And may he always be like that as he grows. Happy 2nd month, Carl Nathan! :)

Christmas Day!

Hubby planned the park hopping on Christmas day. I never thought he lured us to walk from Malate Church to Luneta Park! But the youngsters were all game on walking so I have no choice but to walk. We first went to the church and thanked God for all the blessings He gave us. And then came the hidden planned of hubby of operation walking, but actually I enjoyed walking around the Manila bay because we stopped on every street foods stand like dirty ice cream, grilled pusit (squid), sweet corn and many other things we want to eat while walking. Those were all mouth watering ha-ha! As expected, Luneta Park was over crowded but we sticked to the plans of just strolling around and take some pictures since one of my niece came from the province and her first time in the place.

Our last pit stop: break water in CCP. But our feet were so tired I begged hubby to take a taxi going there. We ate at a nearby Jollibee and we ended our journey at Starbucks where I finally claimed my 2011 Starbucks planner. It was quite a tiring day but a happy one.

What a way of spending Christmas Day! Happy Birthday, Papa Jesus!

Noche Buena feast

I know I got excited with the special menu I planned for the Noche Buena that I didn’t realize I was the only one who can cook it and when I feel sleepy right after our gift giving that I felt that I was so tired I can’t manage to think of any games for the kids to play. So I begged off and told them I will do it on New Year’s eve.

But I’m most happy when Nathan wakes up at around 11:30pm and joined us in our picture taking and slept again after 10 minutes in the arms of his Dad. I cooked a menu with from my friend’s recipe which is pina-pork hamonado, guava glazed chicken lollies and sweet and sour cream dory fish. I’ve done the dessert and the lumpiang shanghai as early as Dec. 23 but that doesn’t mean I can relax because all I have to do that night was to cook. But it’s okay because I saw that they all like the foods and they compliment me as always and hubby appreciate my efforts and gave me a girbaud sling bag for Christmas (ha-ha!).

I thank God and greeted Papa Jesus on His birthday and all Their blessings and good health and everything thus making us stronger and binding.

Merry Christmas, blogger friends! :)

Ann with Friends

We joined the Annlimiteds group on their first ever Christmas Party with Ann Li. It was a private affair and limited slots only event that took place in Café Romulo in Tomas Morato in Quezon City last December 19. It was a red and green themed party but somehow one member wore a white and black top (ha-ha!) We had an exchange gift and a little something for each other (I got a beautiful black bag, Victoria’s Secret perfume and a hair clip) and we ate non stop for we reserved their yellow room with a P12,000 consumable rate for 4 hours. We also had unlimited drinks and lots of foods as we had a give-me games. Ann who looked gorgeous as always was surprised to see Ivan who came with his entourage as the party began and the two were participating gamely.

They are both good looking and Ivan was accommodating. I thought it’s really nice to have that small group party than to have a large group event that you sometimes can’t controlled. But it's still fun though. Everybody was laughing and having the time of their life. Ann opened the gifts we had for her.

We really had a blast and we continued our little chit chats at a nearby Starbucks café and despite the heavy rains, we were all happy knowing that we will able to celebrate this annual event with our true friends.

Annual Party

Last night was our company’s annual Christmas party. It was held in our Sucat warehouse and it gives me time to came early and do some make-ups. I don’t like my white dress that I wore that night. It’s a birthday gift for me from a family friend and I thought when I first wear it that it’s okay but I haven’t notice that the front linings was quite revealing and all I have to do was to cover it all night or else I'll be giving them a free show (ha-ha!)

I didn’t enjoy the party that much because it’s the first day of my period and my back aches was really annoying. The food was not that delicious and I missed the foods we had when we held the party at SMX in Mall of Asia last year. But the production contest per department was the best. It felt so good knowing they always gave their best every year for the grand prize. But I was not even lucky to be picked in the raffle draws and I went home early to rest. Better luck next time!

I still have lots of party to attend! Goodluck! :)

Parts Center Event

I thought our Christmas celebration of our project/department in the office will not push through after what happened in our group during the last quarter of the year. But all well ends well and we decided to put aside all the differences and make amends. We did some personal contributions for the foods and had our funniest exchange gift where you have to describe your baby before you give your gift to her/him. We were all excited to see the looks on their face because we let them wear what they’ve got. It was all fun! I received what I asked for in my wish gift which is some baby product for Nathan. I got a cute pair of jump suit for Nathan.

We served the foods at lunch and I’m glad that everybody was full and we really had fun and there were few left over (especially the rice) unlike last year. Merry Christmas, office mates! :)

Mixed Emotions

It’s the start of the night mass for the festivity. And it’s our eldest sisters’ birthday today. She asked for a new back pack and good thing I saw one at ilustrazio in SM mall of Asia last weekend and I bought one that fits to her description, she wants one with many pockets.

This is also the week that Nathan seems to learn to smile every time he hears our voice and recognized our faces. He responds when he hears his name and he cries when he thought we will lift him up. It was so amazing and we just keep on taking pictures and videos of him and of every new development that happens to him.

Last night was quite a sad night for us when I went home and found out that our youngest sister gave an ultimatum that all the things of my family should be move out from the house in Laguna until tomorrow. I crammed looking for a big van to help us plus the huge cage of Summer (our Labrador). I can’t think of anything to justify my sister’s behavior but I wish she realize what she’s done. Soon.

I need to buy the last minute gift for tomorrow’s exchange gift in the office and at Sunday’s private dinner with Ann Li at Café Romulo. Tomorrow, we will be having our annual project’s Christmas party at the office.

I hope that everything will turn out fine amidst those unhappy situation.

Christmas Foods

It feels so different in the local wet market I used to pass by on my way home from the office. It’s like the ordinary day and everything is bright with the different kinds of Christmas decors on sale and some merchandisers are extending their store hours this month.

I can't help but to looked around until I came across to this native snacks that I only got to buy and eat during the evening mass at the start of the feast of nativity because it is most visible when Christmas is nearing. It’s called puto bumbong or purple glutinous rice steamed in bamboo canon. I love it with lots of margarine or butter with coconut and muscovado sugar. I immediately bought 2 servings (wrapped in banana leaves) and I happily told my hubby that I found what I been looking for. He then remembered my promise that I will make a homemade bibingka (rice flour cake) but I keep on forgetting it. Ha-ha! I still didn’t find time to buy my baking needs because I would like to bake some goodies as gifts to my friends. I wish I can have enough vacation leave to do that but I only got 2 and I’ll use that before Christmas.
It will be more fun if I can find more time cooking this delicious delicacy.

Food Trip - Corn and Squid

My mom and my mother in law went to Quiapo yesterday to accompany our house help to buy her clothes. My sister and my niece Karen was in charged of Nathan in the house. They bought pansit from our favorite Chinese restaurant and a lot of fresh Japanese corn.

I asked hubby if we can grill some of the corn and the dried squid my sister bought when she visited Masbate province. I put the corn and the squid on the available barbeque sticks left in my baking cabinet. Hubbys take care of the coal and I know his favorite is grilled squid and the corn is mouth watering. That is the first time we ever did that and it’s fun. Hope we can do that again.

Christmas Signs

Christmas is past approaching, I’m quite lazy these days and my weekend was occupied by Nathan. I can’t complete my Christmas shopping though I already bought some of my gifts to my god children. I’m also thinking of the menu for the Noche Buena because the whole family will be there at the house. I plan to buy some little cute souvenirs as a prize for the family games instead of giving them money.

I can now feel the spirit of Christmas. One sign is the traffic and no matter how I wake up early, the traffic is so unpredictable that I sometimes I ended up late at work. The December breeze is getting cooler now and I can see that most of the malls are on sale. I had a chance to bought a pants at Jag and Lee sale just near our company place and I want to check for more but you need a lot of patience to do that and there’s no fitting room.

My weekends are quite full and I hope I can have enough strength to do that altogether.
