Milk Teeth

Everyone’s excited and ecstatic to see baby Nathan’s first 2 teeth.  And we thank God that he didn’t feel the pain that most babies were experiencing when having their first milk teeth, diarrhea and fever.  I have baby drops for pain and fever ready just in case.  He is just one happy baby that brightens everyone’s day with his laughter, smile and antics. He never fails to amaze us and we feel blessed knowing we have him in our lives.

7th Month!

Baby Nathan just reached his 7th month and we can’t believe that he’s growing that fast! He recognizes his things and made faces and pretends to cry every time he sees his ate salve bringing his things up in the room from the living room. He talks a lot and he has different funny antics. He loves to listen to us when were singing. He stops if he hears the A-B-C song. He eats a lot! His pediatrician told us to let him taste different mashed vegetables and fruits so he won’t be that picky.

Just a few months more and he will turn one year old and I can’t wait to prepare for that special day of baby Nathan. Just the same, every month is as special.

Happy 7th month Carl Nathan!

Unwanted

Since we transferred to our new home in South area, my sister often received mails from different company offering their services and or giving out discounts to their products.  She’s worried on why this can happened when she don’t even remember giving out her address or personal information to the mail sender.  We told her that she’s getting rich now that’s why so many companies are interested in getting her attention to their products.  But it can be annoying since she’s more worried on what is the extent of her personal information that these unwanted mails has, it just keep on coming and though she’s ignoring it, they even sent mails for a follow up!

She wanted to know and find out how to reduce these mails and to Stop Junk Mail from arriving on our mailbox. She even called to her credit card company and told them not to give away her information just in case they have a tie up company that offers different services or products.  My mother usually rejected mails and return it to the mailman if my sister told her that she don’t know the sender.  That’s her only way to stop those unwanted mails.  I just advised her to be very careful in divulging her personal information to anyone.  I hope she can find ways to end it.

Training Moments

I recently attended a 2-day training about customer service excellence, and I initially thought that can be too boring.  I never had much drive in attending seminars and training but since it's compulsory to join, I have no choice.   But it turned out to be fun and a learning experience, our facilitator is well knowledgeable, she had this bite size chocolates as reward for answering some questions and making us alert all the time.  My fellow attendees were I only recognize from their faces (now, I know their names as well) and some were from my department also.

We devoted some of our idle time after lunch taking pictures in the conference room.  I felt sorry for not remembering to bring my camera, so I used my cell phone camera to take pictures of my colleagues.

I learned so much from that training.  Somehow, it changed my mind in attending trainings like this.  Maybe it really depends on the environment and how you open your mind in learning more than just experiencing the whole of it on hand.  Aside from having 6 chocolates with me, my certificate of training completion serves a reminder that I'm looking for another one in the future.

Company Event

My sister is a bit worried that she was assigned to spear headed their company’s annual celebration. It’s her first time to do this and is very anxious to make it memorable to everyone. Her special team is making plans as earliest as possible and she talked about having promotional items to be given away to their customers who will attend the said event. I think that’s one great idea and these items is popular among many offices. She happily list down all the possible promo items.

But one thing I noticed among all the company celebrations I attended is their personalized pens, it is popular among all souvenirs and is very useable to the office and sometimes comes with different style and chic designs. I once collected company pens as souvenirs and just put it on my pen holder. But my favourite among these company promo items is their personalized mugs, not only useable but also made me proud to display it on my office table. With this, I hope my sister can now think on what promo items to use in their upcoming anniversary. I wish her all the luck with that.

Freshen Up!

Summer here can be really hot. And it’s literally hot! The air conditioner sometimes doesn’t help and releases humid air because of the heat outside and that can be really irritating. So you still find ways to freshen yourselves up and one cooler is the most popular among us. We called it, halo-halo. A crushed ice, evaporated milk, sugar, sweetened fruits like banana, jackfruit, ube and varieties of anything that we love to eat.

For the price of P25 pesos or $0.61, we happily dig to this refreshment that cools not only our feelings but also our mind.

School Opening

Classes will soon start and I can see that people rush to the mall to buy school things for their children.  My niece asked me if I can buy her school things since she’s now a high school freshman and her things are way too different now compares when she’s still in elementary.  I told her I can buy her school things after payday and she’s excited about it she counts the remaining days left before my payday.

But school things are not that big problem compares to the high tuition fees this school year.  A colleague of mine in the office is having a problem on how he can cope up with their tight budget.  He wants to get a loan but he’s not sure about it.  He asked about the credit score range details and wants to try it since he wants a loan to help him pay his kids tuition fees and school things. Classes will begin next month and he wants to avoid last minute shopping and besides, his kids are waiting for it.  I said that getting your credit score will help him in most ways and will help him decide.  He can only hope for the best.

As for the students, this is another year of books and experience for them.

High school moments

It was supposed to be our sections get together but I know that bringing them all in one occasion is quite difficult and I’m right, the event invitation I posted in Face book raised the same problem of having different schedules and even the place to hold the reunion. Though cancelled, we didn’t gave up that easy, me and my best friend, Emmy, planned a simple dinner at Shakeys in SM Sucat and 4 of us came.  But just the same, we had a time of our life eating and talking about our lives and then continue with our coffee session at Starbucks and reminscing our high school life and our married life and some past happenings.

We all agreed that we should do it more often even thrice a year or if there’s an occasion. I would love to be with them again.

Family's Day Out

I can see the excitement in everybody’s eyes as we loaded our things in the van.  It’s hot even at 4pm in the afternoon when we took off going to Pansol, Laguna but it didn’t tarnished the happy mood of every body especially the children who was so eager to dip in the pool.

Hubby got a reasonable deal with the private pool owner since they had their department outing in that place before.  I guess CAT 1 private pool has the cheapest rate in this peak season and a clean warm water, aircon rooms and unlimited videoke are some perks of this resort.  My family loves it and my dog Chase marked the place by doing his “thing” on the floor and he roams the place, sniffing the area as if checking if the place is clear.  Ha-ha!

I took a leave from work that day and I’m feeling tired from all the preparations.  But seeing my folks and the oldies enjoying every minute in the pool, it’s all worth it, and we plan of doing it again.  This time a 24-hr stay when my brother come home this July.

Pet Stories

I have this passion these past few days to read something about dogs. I see to it during my idle time to browse for some heroic deeds of our canine friends to their human families. I had some teary eyed moments every time I read stories of great rescues of those unfortunate pets and the healing power they gave to people who were in great sorrow. I cried a bucket of tears after I watched the movie of Richard Gere entitled Hachi: A dog‘s tale and based on a true story of dog’s loyalty to his master even after his death that happened in Japan. I laughed and cried in the movie, Marley and Me and this is about the story of one struggling family together with their Labrador dog named Marley. That made me read more about great stories about dogs.

As a dog lover like them, I appreciate all their efforts in making their dogs happy and treated like a member of their family. How they keep on looking for their pets amidst the tornado, earthquake and tsunami that devastated their properties. I bow to those who gave time and efforts to rescue these pets and reunite with their families. Someday, I want to be a part of these mission and I will help any way I can for our beloved four legged friends. J

Plan #1

We’ve been planning for a family outing with hubby’s relatives in tow but we hardly had a time to do it. I guess when we want it, someone’s not available or the place is reserved. But now that its summer and most of them is free aside from those who are working, we plan ahead. And we asked someone to do some things for us like getting a bigger van and reserving the private pool for us.

I tried to list down all we need to buy and bring and mind you, that gave me a head ache :) Aside from being costly, I think we will have a problem on who can go and can’t go with us. Well, that’s one problem when you have a big family but hubby said we can fix that so everybody could join and enjoy.

Having this outing is one plan we wish to fulfil this year. It’s been ages ago since we last had our family time together and we hope we can push through with this one.

Family time

We bring Nathan along with us when we strolled in Mall of Asia, we thought it’s about time for him to know more about the outside world. He started to recognize faces around him and he will stare at you intently if it’s his first time to see you and then he’ll cry. I blogged about how behave Nathan is even on his early months, he rarely cries aside from when he’s hungry and sleepy and going to the mall doesn’t change a thing about how good boy our baby is.

But after I some picture taking, he let me put him in his stroller and asked for his milk then sleep. It is when his daddy is about to introduce him to the Toy Kingdom (i guess it means it’s not time yet for the toys) But then he wake up when were inside the department store, he enjoys the colourful decorations in the children’s department and I bought a cowboy hat for him. He’ll use it in the cowboy party he’ll attend by the end of month.

It’s quite tiring but fulfilling trip with Nathan. I hope we can explore more in the near future :)

Memory Lane

Being with my high school friends at the 2nd part of our high school reunion brings back all the memories of my happy days at school. My 3rd and 4th year in high school were the most memorable time for me and I got to bond with my classmates and friends more because we all know how closer you can get for almost 4 years of being together. I can see familiar faces in the crowd aside from my class mates but I admit I’m having a hard time recognizing them anymore. The truth is we change, mostly in our physical appearances. Ha-ha! When I pass one table I heard someone whispering to the woman beside her and they’re talking about me. When I take a closer look at them, they wave at me shyly and I found out that they were my cadet’s during our CAT class and I'm their officer. Despite of being this huge, I’m so happy they still recognize me. And I called out my other class mate to have our picture taken for souvenir. I may not be able to see them anymore with our busy lives these days.

My classmates. I was so happy that most of them are now very successful in their chosen careers.

At our classroom in the second floor building of the school but my class mate who happens to be the Values teacher in that school also said it was renovated to be the school library.

A red wine cheers with my highs chool buddies :)

The organizers promised we will have another reunion after 5 years. I will look forward to see them all again.

Comfy Scrubs

My niece and their team made the right decision on choosing the right scrubs as their nursing uniform. She said it was comfy to use and you can iron it easily and are comfortable to use. Some other team who graduated from other school were asking about it so they gave them the site so they can purchase it online, http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Women/ and the matter of ordering was so easy they can have their scrubs in no time. Many nursing students want scrubs with modern chic designs and you can’t even notice it as a nursing uniform until you take a closer look at it. She was happy she choose it and now enjoying being comfortable even on a busy days in the hospital.

Newly employed nurses would probably look for some cheap scrubs but with high quality and designs that fits their modern taste. All you have to do is to choose the best that can suit your needs and budget and will make you feel beautiful. My sisters and I was talking on the phone last week and we thought on giving our mom some beautiful scrubs on mother’s day next week and because she would really love wearing scrubs as she said it’s comfortable to use. That will be good news to us because we will never have a hard time looking for mom’s gift.
