Trick or Treat

We put all our efforts to make my mom's house a spooky one. And it really pays all the efforts since we are nominated for the most spookiest house contest. But until now, as we left the program in the house after the trick or treat this afternoon, we haven't got any word from the admin department if we win or not. Or maybe some other best dressed house beat us.
It was a successful trick or treat. And the kids who joined this year doubles in number and the candies we bought aren’t enough for them. I feel sorry for those kids that were left out because they are just walking while the others are in their car who stopped by when they saw a marked house.

Vince, Mico and Reine built a tag team and they are rewarded by having lots of candies and goodies even thought they got really tied.

a pose after the trick or treat and about to watch the program

kids pose in front of their goodies

lots of candies!

i was sitting in front of the gate while holding the basket of candies when these kids and their yaya's came in and mobbed me! i was caught off guard and asked my sister to replace me =)

Reine, Mico and Vince ready for the trick or treat.

This is how we made our house spooky. Scary!

Declared Holiday

Most of us are clamoring that it should be a declared holiday tomorrow but since it's not, then we should declare it upon ourselves and take a leave from work! Well, I'm one of them and because my stomach again is aching and I really don't know why or what happened or did I ate something bad for my intestines, I badly needed to rest.

We are all going to Laguna tonight and we are excited on the homeowners trick or treat and the scariest house contest in my mom's place. Hubby was able to borrow some scary stuffs in their office where they held a trick or treat for kids last week and it will surely add some scary look to our house. I wanted to give it a try since we knew that my mom's neighbor really spent lots of money just to dress up their houses and who knows? Maybe we can make it this time =)

Soaring High

I was shocked to see that most of the basic commodities in the supermarket like cooking oil, canned goods, and noodles are all increases in price! Hubby informed me that were running out on our kitchen supplies and if I can do some quick shopping at the grocery. Little did I know that upon checking on some items to buy, the increase is as much as P2.00 – P5.00! I knew it because I’m the one who’s doing all the buying when it comes to our basic needs.

Come to think of it, the prices will surely soar up again since December is nearing. Hay, I should be more careful in buying our stuffs. But knowing hubby, he wouldn’t comprise the quality in favor of quantity.

A Trip To Tagaytay

We went to Tagaytay last Saturday as planned. I’m wishing then that it will not be that hot but the irony of it was it really rained hard that day! Good thing the rain stopped when we are about to reach Tagaytay City. So the weather was good and we are singing and laughing at the car. We saw the lines of Japanese sweet corn vendors and we tempted to bought some and eat it while traveling.

We really had fun that day. That who’s never been in Residence Inn Zoo was accompanied by hubby and me, my mom and Aubrey went down to the side of the highway to bargain some of the seasoned fruits.

We even tasted Taal’s famous burger in the Musroomburger store and we went also to the Mahogany market and bought some beef ribs and sirloins that only cost P190 per kilo.
We dine in at Leslie’s restaurant and took the change to have our picture taking all over the place. I am having a great time taking their picture in different poses and even if we encountered a long traffic on the way home to Laguna, I know everybody was happy and
They hope there will be a next time.

Here are some of the pictures I took.

Affordable Eyeglasses

We wanted to buy new eyeglasses. Since my husband’s last eye check-up he really wanted to have one to correct his visions. And me, I have my eyeglasses with me for two years, so before my eyes become blurry and will start to affect my work, I need to have a new one. And he wanted to have a quality eyeglass but not that expensive. He really doesn’t want to spend much for an eyeglass.

Then my friends told me I could even buy a stylish prescription glasses for as low as $8. So good thing I learned about ZenniOptical.com that sells not just stylish but quality eyeglasses that really fits to your budget. Not only that, you can choose from their wide variety of frames - with single vision lens, sunsensor (potochromic) lens, tinted sunglasses lens or even bifocal lens and progressive lens. From what I read in this article from Chicago Tribune, I know I found the answer to our eyeglass problem that can match our style and will save us a lot of money. My hubby asked me how come this eyeglass could be that affordable. It is because they sell directly their manufactured frames without any advertising or middlemen’s costs. And that finally gives hubby a thumbs up sign.

Pre-Christmas gift

As we passed through the Pangasinan roads, we stopped on a line of stores full of different Christmas decors. My mom immediately asked us to stop and check the displays. As i looked around the area, I noticed one cute decor that may fit hanging to our old house in Pasay. Mom liked it too, and I bargain to the lowest possible price to the owner (good thing I got those traits to my mom, lol!) and he gave it to me with a whooping P600 off! So i got the item and it will surely look lovely and bright and colorful to our terrace once Mom lighted up this Christmas lantern. She really appreciate our early gift and I'm really happy that she's happy.

Get away Plans

Finally, its Friday again! I really not feeling good this week and the 2-day rest can make me relax and even rest. We will be going to Laguna again this weekend and hubby and sister want us to go to Tagaytay. I thought of going there too and buy some fresh fruits and Ube jam from the Good Shepherd store. But it is too hot nowadays and you can't even stay for 1 minute under the sun. Hubby wanted to tour his mother around the place for she never been in Tagaytay before. I hope the sun will not be that hot tomorrow so we can push through with the plans.

Anyways, Happy TGIF blogging friends and enjoy your weekend =)

Annoying

I tried to be mum about it ..... reading their comments, those out of this world comments, not even related to the post .....maybe I'm not used in reading comments like that, or maybe because they are up to something (price?) You'll be the judge. I will just observe if they will be the same in commenting after few days.

But now, I can't even find a heart to read their comments. Please bear with me. I really just can't believe it or maybe I'm really new to blogging that these are just petty things in the blogging world but I will never do that.... It's flooding... and It's annoying.

House Dress

My hubby’s anniversary mood still lingers. As we went to yet another mall in Makati, this time he asked me to buy a new house dress and anything I want. I said, “Wow, anything?” and he answered, “uhumm…” I never think twice that time and help myself in choosing some cute house dresses that really looked comfy to wear.

And since he was nodding ‘yes’ for all the items I’m showing him, I even added some undies to the bargain Good thing Landmark was on sale that time and I got all of this with a 10% off. It’s really my day and I hope my hubby will be in that good shopping mood again =)

Weekend Stories

Now that were finally home from a series of mall tour with my hubby on the lead, I feel that I never been tired as what I’m feeling right now. My feet are aching, my head is aching and my body is aching. Plus maybe I’ll be having my period that I feel really edgy.
I always thought that staying in my parents’ house in Laguna would mean relaxation but when mall hopping comes next, it’s a different story. But I really enjoyed it; my 4 day vacation is really worth it.

My rich neighbor invited us to take a dip in their unused swimming pool rather than we go and swim at the club house. And we take that opportunity and in the middle of the searing heat, we jump at the cold water of the pool.
My father has a new hobby, his mynah bird; and he was so fascinated by it that he never forgets to teach the talking bird a few words every morning.

Our Special Trip

We finally made it to Pangasinan. And we went to Our Lady of Manaoag Church. It has been my fervent wish to hubby that we visit this blessed place and pray to give us the wish we are waiting for. We celebrated and ate our wedding anniversary cake and I’m happy that everyone stays awake till 12 o’clock strikes.

Mom, my eldest sister and my mother in law come with us and the initial plan was to travel at 5am but since all of us were tired and sleepless, we finished preparing our things at 6:30am. It was a long travel (4 hours) and there was no traffic since it’s an ordinary days.

The mass was about to finished when we arrived there. Vendors started to swarm us and really, they will never stop until you get an item from them. I never thought they will be like that.

After hearing the mass and we went to fall in line for us to touch the Blessed Virgin Mary’s statue at the back of the church upstairs and something in me feels like I’m fulfilled. I fulfilled one mission in my life and that is coming in that blessed place and prays that She will grant our wish. I know in my heart it will be soon.

We went to the church museum and we lighted a candle and we took some photos of the places around the church.

After we leave the place, we look for a place to eat where we ate the foods we prepared for that day. My hubby decided to go to Royal Duty Free in Subic Bay and again the first time that we cruised in SCTex (Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway) going there. We were impressed by the world class and modern four-lane toll way in addition to the breathtaking views. The road was perfect but the toll fee was not. We spent almost P1000 ($21.27) traveling going to Pangasinan and back.

What was great in this trip is that everybody is happy. Not only us who celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary and I know that we will always be this way for many years to come. I know hubby knew how much I really love him and I thank him for loving me for who I really am. We thank God that He really blesses us and never let us be down with problems coming our way.

Here are some pictures I took on our 1 day field trip =) I’ll post the beautiful sceneries I took one of these days.

Feeling Sick - again!

My stomach ache is bugging me again. I know there's something wrong or maybe because my stomach doesn't like my new medications. It feels bloated. Or maybe I'm acidic again. I stopped drinking soft drinks many months back but occasionally I drink a bit because my hubby is such a heavy coke and coffee drinker. I can't help but to take a sip sometimes =)

I'll try to take antacid and hopes that this uneasy feeling fades away. I should be feeling good by tomorrow, its our big day and we are going to Pangasinan!

Your head seems spinning and your body doesn’t want to cooperate with what you’re thinking. I do. And now i'm paying the price because I have lots of tons to do here in the office and I can’t seem to think straight.

Maybe this is the case of waking up on the wrong side of the bed. It’s been a long travel home yesterday and that might hit me.

What's Cookin'?

Staying here in my mom’s house in Laguna gives us a refreshing breather to the dust, smoke and dirt of living in a busy city. I always dream of having our own house here in my mom’s place, but I guess we need to save a lot to be able to have one of those houses here.

Mom accompanied me in the market this morning though her knees are hurting badly due to rheumatism. But strong as she is, even the worst rheumatism she had before never stopped her from going anywhere she likes. I joked as we walked slowly inside the wet market --that she walks likes a penguin (loll!) I let her choose the menu for our lunch. She chooses yellow fin tuna, pork liempo, some veggies and guess what, a see weeds! But it’s her choice, so I just pay for it and we headed home to cook.

Here’s the final viand for the lunch, and it’s really a yummy treats =)

Weekend Treats

Hubby wanted to stroll at the mall again.... I knew it. When I read his text message that he's so toxic at work because of their client's audit, I know the next message is that he wants to go out and unwind. And then his message sent to me reads: "MOA! MOA! Luv u!" all I can do was to smile.

We just stroll around the place last night. We went to Watson’s and have some of his vitamins and my medications and looking for something we would like to buy -- in short, impulse purchases (lo!) We move around places to places until we looked at each other and we both exclaimed: "Kain na tayo!"(Let’s eat!) Hay, we both agreed that we should eat dinner in a place where we never been through. And the place is Tokyo Cafe. I used to watch people come and go to this place and their crepes display looks yummy. Maybe their food really tastes good.

Hubby orders burger and shrimp platter, carbonara, Oreo milk shake and we bring along the chocolate slice we bought in a cake stall. And to think I really wanted to diet. Tsk, tsk =)

Friday musing

How's my Friday so far?

It was raining hard (and till now) when I left home. And from the moment I ride the FX taxi, I knew, I will enter the danger zone going to the office – traffic. And I’m right, I'm 2 minutes late and this is the first time ever. I never had been late before even when we still have our office in Libis. I guess I under estimated the traffic power of Paranaque City.

I’m happy because Mr. G finally gave my blog a PR of 2! Hopefully with this, I can start having opps and reviews.

My sister text me to go to Laguna after work, she said my Uncle will have a barbecue party in the house and our neighbor allowed us to use their swimming pool and they decided to swim this night. My hubby is so excited =)

So, happy Friday blog friends! Enjoy your weekend!

Glimpses of Macau

My disappointments on the recent results of my check-up never show on the pictures taken below. See, I’m still smiling though my heart is aching (yeah, just like a song) But these photo exhibits in Mall of Asia showing the glimpse of Macau, China’s finest places are so interesting so I asked my sister to have some souvenir shots on the display photos. And mind you, these huge photos of Macau's food are so mouth watering we ended up eating in KFC =)

My eBay

I learned purchasing and ordering items at eBay when a friend of mine asked me if I want to have those character pillows that she is selling through eBay. I ordered a hello kitty fleece blanket that I gave to my sister --and that’s the start of my online buying habits.

Now, I checked on yet another Hello Kitty product that I can give to her this Christmas.

I saw some of the new items on my favorite seller and I bid for these items I know my sister will surely like.

This Hello Kitty hanging clock (brand new) that i bid for P119.00
And this Hello Kitty musical and revolving pencil case which i bid for only P71.00

And guess what--- I won! I'm so happy because i bid for these items when the bidding time is about to end. But the seller is not yet replying to my text messages. I should have deposit the payment when i still have a time.
