Wonder Dog

I’m back at work and I just wish I can have few more days to rest.  My head still hurts and my eyes unfocused.  I promise I will not open my pc at night to rest my eyes.

I have some cute and funny moments with our pet dog Chase during the times that I was sick.  My mother in law said that Chase just stays in our room and don’t even eat his food or bark at all.  I remember last Sunday when I have fever, I saw him sleeping beside me and we even shared the same pillow. My hubby said that he was like that the whole day. When I ate at the bed because I am too weak to go down, he will just sit beside the bed table and watched over me.  So when he goes down to pee, my MIL blocked the stairs with boxes so he can’t go up so he eat his foods, but he becomes agitated, barks at them and keeps on moaning while trying his way up again.  All the times that I was sleeping, he also sleeps beside me, sometimes putting his head on my feet or playing with the socks I'm wearing.

They are worried that he’ll get sick too by not eating so I decided to go down and eat dinner at the dining table.  He went down with me and to their amazement, when Chase saw that I’m putting some soup in the bowl, he approached his dog bowl and chows all his foods while he keeps on glancing at me.  By the time I sit on the chair, he already finished his foods and he jumps on the empty chair beside me and watched me eat.

I was so touched on how he behaves that day.  Sometimes we wonder if he can really sense that I am sick.  And he’s helping me in his very own unique way.  We knew how sweet Chase is and he does things that made you think that he’s a human reincarnated. But I am so grateful that he accompanied me during the times that I am hurting.  What a wonder dog =)

Down with Fever

I am not exempted from getting sick in this ever changing weather. I woke up yesterday morning with a stomach ache and I thought I’m going to faint because it really hurts. And then I have an LBM and losses my strength going in and out of the rest room but that’s not it, I vomited two times until I have to cry for hubby to help me. He told me to get dress so we can go to the hospital but then my stomach ache stopped and replaced by sudden chill. I have a fever of 38.8 in temperature and I told hubby that I need to lie down.

And by this time the fever went down after it reached for almost 39.2 at 1am today. I have to get up because I’m having a body aches from lying and sleeping almost the whole day. My stomach is still rumbling but I can manage it. I hope the fever will stop but I still need to rest till tomorrow and hopefully I am better that time.

Mye Special Day

Another year has passed and looking back, I have so many reasons to be grateful. I just really am so happy that I reached this age that I can and cannot said that I am fulfilled. But the feeling of contentment of just being here healthy and happy and surrounded by my loving peers, family and friends are enough to make me feel great all the time. The day before my birthday, I invited my 3 high school friends in a dinner at Luk Foo restaurant, though the other one didn’t make it because of work, my godchild, Angel came with her mom. Once we’re there, we never run out of topics to talk about. And we're really happy just to see each other again.

I told hubby that we should have even just a dinner or lunch with my family, but he said I should at least invite some of my friends and celebrate it at home. It was so nice that some of our friends gave us foods to include in the menu like crabs (big ones!) and cake. My family is complete except for my brother who came back from Qatar just in time for his twins birthday (Aug.6) but we never got a change to see him because the mother of his twins rented a van, waited at the airport and went straight to their province without bothering to let (even) my mom to see his son (gosh, I really should have forget about her at all, she's  making me sick again!) But anyways, some of my and hubby’s office mates came by and sing their hearts out. They really had fun till the wee hours of the morning.

Below are some of the photos. I just can’t thank enough my family and friends who gave me gifts, greeted me thru text, online, by calling me on the phone and simply being there for me on my big day. Till next year! =)

Rain, rain, Go away

It’s been raining almost everyday, and the typhoon keeps on coming back. I wonder if there are times that I ever spent my birthday in a sun shiny day. I was so bored that I can’t even go out or too lazy to run some errands so I just took a photo of the rain from our room. But rain gives you this comfort to just snuggle in your bed and sleep a little more =)

Tomorrow is my big day but we will go to Makati Medical Center to check on hubby’s right knee (he was eager to join their basketball game so he wants to heal it fast!). And since check-ups, x-rays and lab tests are part of their health benefits, might as well enjoy the privilege. But I hope everything will be okay.

Holiday and Rain

It’s been raining cats and dogs when we reached Baclaran Church this morning, we attended the first Wednesday novena mass and at the end they played “Bayan Ko” where everybody sings because we know that it was for the late ex-President Cory Aquino who is being laid to rest today at Manila Memorial in Paranaque. It was good thing that we have no work today, we will not be able to go to our office anyway. The whole side of the streets and highways are full of people waiting for the convoy from Manila Cathedral and there’s no way we can reached the office except by foot (in which I wouldn’t try or dare).

We are soaked and wet all over when we reached Mall of Asia after the mass and we went straight to the clothes section of the department store to buy new clothes so we could change. We keep laughing and greeted happy birthday to each other after we left the rest room. That is out of our plan but we just can’t go around the mall like that =)

Hubby injured his right knee during their basketball match last night. He keeps on complaining that it really hurts but early this morning, he insisted to go with me and eventually lured me going at the mall. We did the grocery and had lunch in Rack’s restaurant. I called Aling Baby, our resident home service "hilot" to check on his knee and now, he keeps on saying “ouch” and eventually bite a towel to refrain from saying any word! Ha-ha!

Here's how Manang squeezed my hubby's injured knee! It must be really painful. But i hope hubby's knee can recover soon. Basketball is one step of being body fit again =)

Silver Linings

Hubby came home last night looking grumpy and when I asked what’s wrong with the face, he only said that he’s hungry.  But I knew him, there must be a reason.  So after we ate dinner, I made some coffee for both of us and told him to come to our room.  He sat on the sofa and I settled on our bed.

I knew it, he was torn on some important decisions on his career.  We talked about it and advised him on what to do and what to expect.  Most of all, I gave him all the courage I have with me so he can continue to work for the common good (sounds like Dumbledore in Harry Potter, hehe).  I know being in the corporate world is one hell of a tough job, it will never be easy.  And when he seems discourage with the way things are going in there, I gave him hope and will to work as hard as he did before.  When there will come a time that all was done and was left with no choice, then it’s time to change the course of his path.

I told him not to let the problems get in his way.  He show the most amazing leadership and his people respect him for that.  We can’t please everybody and not all can understand you fully well.  When all the people around seems to disappoint you and realized you are caught in the middle of the two opposite minds, just think of how your perseverance helped you to get there. There will always be a silver linings guiding you through.

Mye Week

This is my birthday week (yey!).  And since August 1, my friends and family keep on reminding me of my upcoming birthday and hubby keep on singing to me the happy birthday song.  I filed for a day vacation before my birthday leave and so surprised to know that Wednesday was declared as a special non-working holiday so the public can pay respect to the late ex-President Cory Aquino (RIP) who will be laid to rest that day.  So I will be having my 5-day vacation including weekends and it’s the first time this year! I hope that this will be a fulfilling week for me and a happy one, too!

We watched ‘The Proposal’ yesterday at Mall of Asia, if you are a hopeless romantic person (like me!) and wants to have some fun and laughter, this is a must see movie for you.  Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds are perfect for their roles and their location in Sitka, Alaska is one of the best I’ve ever seen (though I read somewhere that it was actually filmed in Boston with some digitally enhanced views to look like Sitka, Alaska). But whatever,   I still love being there for once in my life.

Below are the photos of this beautiful place that makes the movie even more romantic.
